The 72mm Wide Angle Rubber Lens Hood by Sensei blocks unwanted stray light from entering your camera's lens to minimize flare and glare. The lens hood's design makes it convenient to store, and protects your lens from accidental impact. It attaches to your camera's lens via the threaded internal ring, on lenses 28mm and longer for full-frame sensors and 18mm and longer for crop-sensor cameras. The ultra-thin internal aluminum filter ring avoids vignetting when shooting with a UV filter.

Additionally, the hood's ridged interior and matte finish helps minimize light reflection. The hood's internal ring will accept a 67mm lens cap, which further allows you to protect the lens from dust, fingerprints, and scratches when the lens is not in use. The ideal lens cap to use for this is a center-pinch (push-on) type.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this 72 mm rubber lens hood screw onto the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II lens?

A: As the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens has 72mm filter threads, yes, the Sensei Wide-Angle Rubber Lens Hood (72mm) may be used with the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens. However, do note that this is a third-party lens hood designed for wide angle lenses, and the lens hood may not provide adequate light-blocking capabilities at all focal lengths found in the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens. If performance at all focal lengths are needed, then the Tamron Lens Hood for 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC HLD Lens, B&H # TALH1840035, would be the correct lens hood for your usage needs.

Q: 2. Is Sensei 72 Wide angle rubber lens hood able to work with Sony FE16-35 mm ZA without vignetting?

A: It works fine with my 18 - 200 mm Canon Zoom lens. No vignetting.

Q: 3. Does this also work with Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens?

A: Yes, your lens has a 52mm thread, so this hood will fit.

Q: 4. When in its most compressed configuration, is this 3-in-1 version the same width opening as the wide angle version re vignette?

A: Yes, the Sensei 72mm Wide Angle Rubber Lens Hood and the Sensei LHR2-T72 3-In-1 Rubber Lens Hood (72mm) both offer similar coverage to about 28mm in full frame when collapsed.

Q: 5. Will this hood fit on my Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro HSM Lens f/Sony?

A: I have a 18-200 mm Nikkor zoom lens (72 mm diameter) on which this hood fits fine (as far as attaching to the lens). It should also fit your lens. The hood folds in for the wider angle zoom. However, there is definite corner shadowing at the widest angles. So depending on how often you shoot wide, it may become a hindrance. My wide angle extends to 76 degrees while your Sigma extends to 79 degrees. Therefore, it is likely to have even more corner shadowing. Beyond the wide angle, however, the hood works fine. In my case, I only need to zoom in a bit to remove the corner shadows. However, there have been times when I took off the hood when the corner shadows were annoying (and I didn't have any sun reflection issues).

Q: 6. can it fix with XF 10-24mm?

A: Yes, the FUJIFILM XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS WR Lens can accept the Sensei 72mm Wide Angle Rubber Lens Hood via its filter thread.

Q: 7. Does this fit the Nikon 28/1.4D?

A: No, you need the 77mm one. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1079788-REG/sensei_lhm_w77_pro_77mm_wide_angle.html

Q: 8. Will this lens hood produce any vignetting at 24mm when used on a Canon 24-105 RF f4 lens?

A: No, this lens hood is designed for wider lenses like 16mm. 24mm wouldn't even notice it so this should be good for your lens.

Q: 9. will this hood produce vignetting when combined with the Schneider Super angulon MC 90mm f8 lens for 4x5 cameras?

A: This will not cause vignetting with that lens.

Q: 10. Will it works without vignetting on 10mm lens ( i need it for fuji 10-24mm lens) ?

A: Yes. You should not get vignetting on an effective focal length of 20mm.

I'm happy with this rubber lens hood. What I really appreciate is how easy it is to use. The anodized aluminum ring threads smoothly onto your lens, and the design is super sturdy. Plus, the ring has interior threads, so you can still screw on a filter or clip a lens cap inside the hood. It’s these little details that make a big difference. I love the flexibility this provides.
Being made of rubber is a plus for me. When you’re done shooting, it is easy to pack it away in your camera bag without any fuss. Having the pliability of a rubber material is great. That is very convenient and saves a ton of space.

Besides blocking stray light and reducing flares/glares on the lens, it also is good for protection of your lens and camera. This is an under rated element to having a lens hood. It adds a layer of protection from drops and bumps while either in your camera bag or when it is in use. It's nice having that extra layer of protection and peace of mind.
I also appreciate the matte black finish. it really minimizes reflections and keeps your photos/videos looking top-notch. To summarize, I'm very happy with this rubber lens hood. It's well made, well designed, easy to use and very functional. [I have received this product in exchange for my honest review]

I have the 82mm version of this rubber lens hood. They both are working flawlessly for me. This 55mm version is pretty much identical to the 82mm version, but smaller of course. Both are well designed, well made and very functional.
