The black JBL Professional AM5212/26 Passive 2-Way 12" Loudspeaker System is a versatile, medium-power speaker well suited for professional installations such as performing arts facilities, theatureal sound design, auditoriums, houses of worship, live music venues, night clubs, sports facilities, and theme parks. The AM5212/26 is comprised of the JBL Differential Drive, dual-voice coil and dual-magnetic gap 262H-1 (12") low-frequency driver, and 2408H-1 high-frequency 1.5" exit, 1.5" voice-coil compression driver. The large format PT Progressive Transition waveguide provides a 120° x 60° coverage. The waveguide is rotatable so the loudspeaker system can be used in either the vertical or horizontal orientation. High-slope passive networks minimize band overlap. Well-controlled off-axis response enhances arrayability. The AM5212/26 will perform as either a bi-amped or passive cabinet, at the flick of a switch.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the actual range of the riser? I am contemplating using a head that is 7 from the base to the flash tube. It's larger than a standard speedlight which is about 5 from the base to the tube.

A: From the base to base of the tube flash is 7 inches, works well for barebulb flash .I likes the light is softThanks

Q: 2. Does this come with the front diffusion material? And can this fit an Interfit Strobie 360 bare bulb flash?

A: Vera, the Rapid Box does come with a full stop diffusion panel. It does not, however, come with the deflector plate which I would recommend to get an even distribution of light across the diffusion panel. It works with most speed lights, however on the Strobie I would inquire about that first to make sure you could move the bulb inside the Rapid Box without damaging the bulb. You would want the bulb fully inside the Rapid Box for even lighting. So, just off the top of my head I'd cautious about making this purchase without knowing if the bulb would not get damaged. Other than that, I like this softbox and used it on location just this weekend.

Q: 3. Does this work with the aputure 120dii?

A: This unit can only be used with speedlights.

Q: 4. Does this work with the Profot A1 or Godox V? I already have the rapid box but am contemplating switching my flash... if it does not - are there ways to change the mount? Would not want to saw the metal wider :)

A: Westcott makes a adapter you can use with the Rapidboxes https://bhpho.to/2B6eash.

Q: 5. no deflector plate?

A: Deflector plates are separate. I eventually bought one but you don't have to get one. The quality of light is great without it, and freakin's superb with it.

Q: 6. Does this work with Practilite 602?

A: Michael, This kit is not available in a mount for the Practilite. However, The 26 Octa S and the expanded line of Rapid Boxes are now available in a switchable mount. Adding the Profoto Switch mount should allow you to use your Practilite with any of the Rapid Box Switch modifiers.

Q: 7. How long it the just soft box when folded down? I want to be able to put it in a suitcase and already have a stand that fits.

A: it is about 14"

Q: 8. How can I use my my speedlight with Tapid Box26 Octabox with my Elinchrom RQ One? I use EL- Skuport Transmitter Plus to fire my RX One.

A: If you are trying to use an Elinchrom unit with the Rapid Box, We recommend the Rapid Box Switch. This is a system that allows you to switch the strobe mount, and keep the same softbox. This is great for photographers that have a variety of lights, or want a softbox that they can use when they change light systems. Q: 9. How tall does the light stand go?

A: Almost 7 feet, it becomes a little unstable at that heigth, must use a sandbag, in case you use it in an exterior location.

Q: 10. do you have a forum or Q&A thing where i might ask if somebody has bought both the Westcott Rapid Box Beauty Dish 24 and the Westcott Rapid Box - 26 Octa Softbox?the differences seem so slight that it the light created wouldn't be that much different?how can you help?

A: The 26 is designed for speed lights with a silver interior. It is an Octagonal eight rib unit. The Beauty Dish has 16 ribs and thus a more round surface. The Beauty Dish is a studio strobe modifier available in various mounts. The interior of the Beauty Dish is white and the price includes a unique flat deflector plate. Having photographed with both I would suggest the 26 is a good all around unit while the Beauty Dish is a unique modifier with nuances that make it an awesome choice for Beauty and Head Shot portraits.
