Q: 1. I have the canon 100-400 is ii lens. The recommendation is the p-10 plate. If i use the 1.4 extender do i still use the p-10 plate or the p-20?

A: Skip that plate altogether, get rid of the factory tripod foot & replace it with a Kirk LP-61. It's a much more stable set up, slides right in to the WH-200. A great gimbal head like the Whimberly is only as good as the lens attachment point. Get the Kirk, skip the p-10 plate unless you haver other lenses that you intend to shoot from your tripod. The foot is long enough to find the correct balance point (which changes as you soon in & out) no problem, will work if you go with the 2X extender also (but your autofocus won't).

Q: 2. Is 3 legged - Albert adequate for Wimberley WH-200? thanks in advance

A: Assuming 3-legged Albert = tripod mfd by 3-Legged, my opinion is: marginal .

Q: 3. Will this gimbal head on a peak design tripod properly support a Canon R5 with RF 100-500L?

A: Yes, the Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base can be connected to the Peak Design Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod if you use the Peak Design Universal Head Adapter. Please review the following link to view this adapter: https://bhpho.to/2S3MU7g The gimbal will support the weight of the camera and lens; please be aware that the release plate is not included by Wimberley. You can get a universal arca long plate with anti-twist flenge, or replace the foot on your lenses. Wimberly makes the following foot replacement for the Canon 100-500mm RF lens: https://bhpho.to/3VWo1vB

Q: 4. Is the Wimberley WH-200 II smoother panning than the Benro GH2?

A: The Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base does have smoother panning than the Benro GH2 Aluminum Gimbal Head.

Q: 5. Is this compatible with a Sigma 50-500 Canon EF lens, and what sort of QR plate would I need for such? Also, what sort of microfiber tripods would be usable to have the 500mm in front & my tiny Sony A6000 mounted behind and still be able to balance?

A: Hi Dave, I have a sigma 150-500 on a canon 7D mk2 and the WH-200 MK2 performs faultlessly. This is attached to a Gitzo GT 4532LS carbon fiber and is an excellent set up.

Q: 6. I have a bogen 3033 tripod with a 3047 head on it will the Wimberly tripod head fit on this tripod and which quick release plate do I need? thanks

A: The Wimberly tripod head fits on a standard tripod legs which I think your bogey 3033 is. I have a quick release plate that is a bit longer than the base of the tripod collar on my Pentax 560 lens. This tripod head is amazing to use to photograph wildlife with a long lens, easy to position and move to get the shot you want wile keeping the lens steady.

Q: 7. I'm looking for the right accessories for the Canon 800mm. It looks from the chart as though I need a P50 plate, but also specifies + BS-100 I can't find this additional product -- what's this referring to? Thanks.

A: From their chart the P-50 is the correct plate for the Canon 800mm. I noticed from their catalog and website the BS-100 is a3/8 to 1/4 Brass Reducer Bushing. Most of these lenses have 3/8 and 1/4 mounting holes on the bottom of the feet. I looked and the Plates use 1/4-20 mounting screws and the P-50 lens plate comes with a bushing to use, so all you need to purchase would be the P-50 lens plate.

Q: 8. DearsI have a manfrotto 055PROB. The question is: This head is compatible with 055PROB?I need to use any interface? The equipment together work? Thanks for reply.

A: Yes, the Wimberly Gimbal head will work together with the Manfrotto 055PROB legs. They are compatible.

Q: 9. I have Mefoto C1350 Road trip tripod and Canon 100-400mm plus 1.4 Extender. Is my Tripod sturdy enough to use with the Wimberly Gimbal Head?

A: No. You need greater leg rigidity and a large mounting plate for the WH-200. Check out the Gitzo Systematic 3 Series for the appropriate tripod category. You may choose to accessorize with a leveling base but the WH-200 handles panning. A ballhead has, obviously, no role in this kind of rig.

Q: 10. I currently have a promaster GH25. I am thinking of buying this gimbal. My reason being that I can only lack the pro insert tied positions, but can never find tune it. Meaning that it will lock at 15° 30° but nothing in between. My question is, can I lock this Gimble head in any degree of tilt that I desire thank you

A: Yes, you can lock the tilt on the Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base.
