Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the HDMI out carry audio?

A: Video and audio is transported through the HDMI port.

Q: 2. How much weight does the monopod support if I remove the fluid head?

A: The monopod will support up to 17.6lbs.

Q: 3. How do I lock the ball to stop it from rotating? I'm able to lock my tripod head (500AH Fluid head), but the ball causes the position to slowly change and camera to move out of position. The only locks I can see are on my tripod head. Thanks.

A: At the very end of the center column is the locking mechanism. Twist to loosen or lock the leveling base.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with a 501pl plate?

A: Yup

Q: 5. Does the original MHXPRO-2W head fit this monopod so we can have the pan function at the head as well?

A: Sorry I am not familiar that head

Q: 6. Does this Monopod stand by itself with a camera on it?

A: Short answer: no. If you want to be able to set up a camera and leave it, get a small tripod. A monopod's main function is to offer a third point of stabilization for the operator. I've used this monopod with small mirrorless stills cameras up to large RED DSMC setups. It's one of my favorite monopods - super sturdy and the locking foot is an excellent added bonus for both stability and making camera moves. But I would NEVER leave a camera unattended. Expertly balanced and with a small camera body, yes, it can stand on its own in a still room on an even surface, but just as other responders have said - even the gentlest of breezes, or really even a sneeze, could prove disastrous.

Q: 7. It says that the foot connector MVMXPROBASEUS is 1/4 20 and I am just curious if I can use a Kessler Kwik plate to ensure rapid detachment of the legs for storage?

A: The MVMXPROC5US has a 1/4 -20 and 3/8 -16 connection at the top which will allow you to attach a quick release system directly to it. You will be able to mount B&H #KEMG1001 to this monopod.

Q: 8. Can I use the Nikon d850 and Nikon PF 500mm lens for wildlife video -particularly birds flitting about. Is it good for quick panning for getting birds on the fly?

A: Yes the Manfrotto MVMXPRO500US XPRO Aluminum Video Monopod can support up to 17 pounds and the integrated FLUIDTECH base utilizes a "3D" fluid cartridge which facilitates smooth pans and tilts from a single connection point.

Q: 9. Can the Q8n-4K be powered by a portable USB power bank?

A: The Zoom Q8n-4K Handy Video Recorder can be powered by a portable USB power bank.

Q: 10. Is there a shorter center column available that can be used with these legs?

A: I'm afraid that we do not have a shorter center column available for this tripod.
