One of the great features of the Strand SPX Ellipsoidal series is the interchangeability of fixed beam and zoom lens tubes to the body of the fixture as needed for specific venues and changing productions. This Strand 25-50° Zoomspot Lens Tube for SPX Ellipsoidal by Philips Selecon is a great way to span distances from 10 - 45' with beam angles that can render a medium spot (or a tight one with an optional iris) or very wide wash. Outfitted with this lens the SPX can output a beam diameter of 4.4 - 32.6'.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens work on the Canon EOS R? Thanks

A: You can use it on the EOS R with the EF-RF adapter but this lens is for crop apsc sensor and the EOS R has a full frame sensor, so you won't be using the full sensor of the R, less than half of the available megapixels will be used and the corners of the image will be black like looking through a key hole, so I do not recommend it for that camera.

Q: 2. Will this lens work on the Z6 and 7?

A: While this lens can fit on the Z6/Z7 cameras, using it will result in a cropped image and a reduction in your resolution being that the lens is optimized for a DX sensor.

Q: 3. If I were to use the 77mm Variable ND (by Tiffen) would I get vignetting? If it helps, I use the G85 with Metabones ULTRA 0.71 Speedbooster

A: You should not experience any vignetting.

Q: 4. My new50-140mm lens rattles inside when turned upside down. Is this normal?

A: Yes. Several of the lenses have components that float a bit until power is turned on. It's not a defect and doesn't hurt the lens in any way.

Q: 5. Does this lens have a permanently fixed aperture? If not, does it offer aperture control when used with the Speed Booster?

A: I'm not sure I understand your question, but to answer it literally...No, it doesn't have a fixed aperture...a fixed aperture would be a single f/stop on the lens... The aperture goes from f1.8 down to f22. There is no aperture ring on the lens, so you have to dial your f/stop up and dow using the dials on your camera. I have no idea what a Speed Booster is so I can't answer that. What I can say from using this lens almost every day since I bought it is that it is the single sharpest lens I have ever used and I would buy it again without hesitation or qualms.

Q: 6. does it work with gh5 directly attached or it requires to purchase an adapter for that?

A: It's a Fujifilm XF mount lens designed for any Fujifilm X series camera. It would need an adaptor for other cameras.

Q: 7. Will there be any vignetting if used with the Speedbooster XL 0.64 on the GH5?

A: Not all lenses work but that lens the Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Canon EF is listed as compatible by Metabones. But it is not compatible with the in camera stabilization on the GH5.You can see all of this information on Metabones site.

Q: 8. Does it have an Image stabilization function?

A: I do not know. I did not buy this lens. I am sure the description for this lens on the B&H web site would state so, if it did.

Q: 9. Any Fuji X-T10 owners using this lens? Too heavy?

A: Heavy compared to what? The lens is heavy if you compare it to the 27mm pancake lens. If you compare the lens to the equivalent 70-200mm used on DSLR's the lens is much lighter. I have been using this lens since it was released, I have no issues with the weight of it. The lens is fast and sharp.

Q: 10. Is the aperture ring properly designed, continuously variable, or does it click into each stop?

A: I purchased this lens last December. The aperture ring on my lens is graduated in 1/3 stops -- 18 clicks between f2.8 and f22. The aperture ring can be set to an aperture priority automatic ( A ) position past f22. On aperture priority, the lens will meter in fractions of a stop.Hope this information is useful to you.
