A: I went to Iceland in April and it was pretty cold. This lens was on the camera 90% of the time 2000 pics. The lens held up well against the cold and light rain. Be aware that I was using a rain cover to protect the lens and a6000 during significant down pour. I was little paranoid that one day I will wake up and see condensation on the inside but it never happened... Even when I didn't take extreme care to acclimate the lens when going from cold outside to warm inside. After 2 yrs it is still going well. Focus is smooth as ever and focus by wire mechanism is also very smooth.

A: wider for landscapes but great little lens and very pleased with the few pictures I've used it for so far.

A: It should be, the EF mounts generally work well across the Canon family, however your auto-focus capabilities might not work as fluidly as the DSLR line of cameras.
