Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does it need a video capture card or special driver to stream video to the computer? Or do you just plug in the USB and the computer recognizes it as a video source?

A: No capture card, driver or other equipment is required. The computer will recognize it as a Webcam. Instructions can be found on page 38 of the manual, which is available on our product page.

Q: 2. Could this monopod be effective with a Sony FS7/Lens/battery/remote arm?

A: This will work well for a Sony FS7 set up. I would recommend adding a head for added flexibility though.

Q: 3. Can the base be used independently as a small tripod?

A: Yes, there is a lock. And a way to adjust it based on how big of a lens you have on the camera. But I wouldnt trust it completely unattended. Ive used it that way while standing next to it.

Q: 4. The 234RC is recommended with this tripod, but is there something with a bigger load capacity? Sony A7III with Sony FE 100-400mm GM. It says weight of 5.5 pounds okay, and this combination is 4.5 pounds - makes me a tad nervous.

A: The capacity on Manfrotto MPMXPROA4US Aluminum XPRO Monopod+ is 44LB. For Manfrotto 234RC Tilt Head for Monopods, the load capacity is 11LB. Both items will be very steady with your camera and lenses. You can use one of the safety pins included with the Manfrotto 200PL Quick Release to get a solid connection on your Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS Lens.

Q: 5. does 500 quick release plate work for this monopod that is 502?

A: Yes.

Q: 6. Is there any depth of field or bokeh/out of focus effect for the background or is foreground and background equally in focus?

A: Unfortunately no. The Depth of field may not be altered on this camera, as the lens is set to infinity focus.

Q: 7. can the current head fit my tamron 150 600 G2 or do i need an additional head?

A: The head of the Manfrotto MVMXPRO500US XPRO Aluminum Video Monopod is compatible with the Tamron 150-600mm G2 lens.

Q: 8. can the base be locked when opened?

A: Yes, it does lock. It will actually hold my Canon 6d hands free (not recommended - but it will do it).

Q: 9. Is this able to zoom in?

A: Yes.

Q: 10. What type of Head is needed for a canon 1dx to fit this monopod?

A: Fits straight to the stock body.
