Cover all your bases with the extremely versatile E 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS LE Lens from Sony for your APS-C-format E-mount camera. By providing a 27-300mm equivalent zoom range, users can capture subjects both near and far without needing to swap out their lenses, making it ideal for travel. It also benefits from the use of two extra-low dispersion and four aspherical elements to minimize aberrations. Furthermore, it is equipped with Optical SteadyShot image stabilization that will reduce the impact of camera shake, especially at longer focal lengths.

For fast focusing, the 18-200mm uses a linear autofocus motor with an internal focus design that permits focusing as close as 1.6'. It also has a zoom lock switch on the lens barrel to prevent zoom creep when the lens is not in use. Additionally, it has a seven-blade circular diaphragm to produce smooth, rounded bokeh.

Designed for APS-C-format E-mount cameras, this 18-200mm offers users a vast wide-angle to super telephoto range equivalent to 27-300mm.

A variable f/3.5-6.3 maximum aperture helps keep the lens' overall size and weight to a minimum.

Two extra-low dispersion glass elements are featured in the lens design to help reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color neutrality.

Four aspherical elements are incorporated in the lens design to reduce astigmatism, field curvature, coma, and other monochromatic aberrations.

Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper imagery when shooting handheld with slower shutter speeds. This stabilization system can be combined with select camera's sensor-shift type image stabilization for more effective control of camera blur.

A linear autofocus motor and internal focus mechanism contribute to faster, more responsive focusing in both stills and video. Also, the lens features a minimum focus distance of 1.6' and it does not change in length when changing focus.

A zoom lock switch prevents the lens barrel from accidentally extending when not in use.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when employing selective focus techniques.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it coming with lens hood? If so, why we dont see any picture on 18-135mm w/lens hood?

A: Yes, lens hood is included. I received my lens two days ago.

Q: 2. Not a par focal lens. However, if used on an FX30 would the auto focus compensate enough while zooming stage events?

A: No, the Sony E PZ 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens is not a fast enough or consistent when zooming and relying on autofocus to be accurate.

Q: 3. In manual focus mode is the lens driven mechanically as the user turns the ring or electric drive like the Sony PZ18-105 Gf4 where user turns the ring and waits for a motor to miss focus again and again and again?

A: In manual focus mode, the lens moves mechanically.

Q: 4. Can this be used on the A7R III?

A: Yes it can be used on the Sony a7R III BUT since it is made for the smaller Apsc sensor then your images will be cropped down to 18mp. So unless you run into a situation where you only have this lens you are better off with a full frame lens.

Q: 5. Does this product come with a Sony warranty if ordered online? If so, how long?

A: The E 18-135mm comes with a Limited 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty from Sony.

Q: 6. Sorry, I know this has been covered in some places, but there are conflicting opinions/comments... Can this lens be used with the FS7 to shoot 4K? Any vignetting or limitations? I need the widest possible PZ lens for a jib setup. Thanks

A: I use this lens with three different Sony cameras including the full frame A7. So to answer your question about the sensor... yes it can be used with full frame. The resolution is not important.

Q: 7. Can it hold f3.5 all the way through the end of its focal range? And does the image quality compare favorably with the Sigma a mount series? I'm considering getting the Sigma f2.8 and using the adapter for my fs5 ... or THIS lens

A: This lens has a variable aperture and will likely not hold f/3.5 all the way zoomed out. If the comparison is between this lens and one with a constant f/2.8 aperture, I would recommend going with the lens that has the constant f/2.8 aperture.

Q: 8. Will this lenes work for volleyball pictures

A: That would depend on available light in the arena. In a well lit arena it will probably be fine. If the lighting is low then you may run into issues with slower shutter speeds or noisy pics. For sports you will generally want a fixed aperture lens like a constant f4 or f2.8

Q: 9. I love this lens and use it for everything. However, I'm wondering if I should buy a SEL50F18 prime lens? What would the difference or the benefit be between using my SEL18135 at 50mm and using the SEL50F18?

A: I have the 50mm f1.8 which I use when shooting in low light but for walking around I usually use the kit lens. I purchased the 18-135 yesterday after trying it out because I wanted a walk around lens with more reach than the kit lens. From the test shots that I took, this lens seems to be as sharp as the 50mm f1.8 but not as sharp as the sigmas 30mm f2.8 and 19mm f2.8. I dont think I will be using my 55-210 any more since reach difference is not much when looking at the images and the images from the 50-210 after about 100mm are very soft anyway. Unfortunately, I did not get to try the 18-105 f4 but I think the extra reach of the 18-135 will prove more of an advantage than the constant aperture of the 18-105 for my use. In addition, I think the 18-135 being lighter goes well with the aps-c bodies and is more balanced. While at the store I did get to try the 18-200 OSS LE which I found unworthy of the extra $250 price difference, it is a but heavier, longer and also kind of soft from what I was able to see in my tests. I compared the a6000 paired with the 18-135 to the rx100vi. The rx100vi is an amazing little camera but, in my opinion, not worth the $1200 it sells for. And the sony a6500 upgrade is not worth the extra $1000 when compared to the a6000. If you shoot video, your needs are different and the lens/camera choices you make will most likely be different than mine.

Q: 10. For those of you that have used both: how would you compare the 18-135 with the 16-70 Zeiss (which is what I own) other than a little more reach?

A: The Sony 18-135mm lens is a good consumer lens with a useful range of focal lengths. The Zeiss 16-70mm lens is a pro lens with a constant f/4 aperture. The Zeiss lens features very high resolution, allowing for greater edge sharpness, and much better cropping capability than the 18-135mm lens.
