Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are these receivers compatible with off-brand transmitters in the 72-76 MHz range?

A: The Listen Technologies LR-500-72 Portable Programmable Display RF Receiver (72 MHz) BH #LILR500072 is compatible with Listen Technologies transmitters.

Q: 2. It needs 12VDC 1.3A (15.6W), but is the barrel centre-positive or centre-negative?

A: The Listen Technologies Stationary RF Transmitter (216 MHz), BH # LILT80021601, features a center-positive 12VDC input port.

Q: 3. I have 3 411a being fed via smda's and smqv's and 2 sets of LT/LRs. They're all different blocks from 470 to 22. Would two of these work for all of my sets at the same time if I used a splitter? Or do I have to get two for each band?

A: Hello. This is Nick at Lectrosonics Tech Support. The SNA600a has an effective bandwidth of approximately 100MHz, 50MHz above and 50MHz below the center frequency that you set by adjusting the length of the antenna's arms. However, the sensitivity rolls off gradually above and below the +/- 50MHz points. The SNA600a measures less than 2:1 SWR (Standing Wave Ratio) from 465-850 MHz when the antenna arms are fully extended. In other words, depending on your application (range, RF output power settings on transmitters, obstruction to line of sight between transmitters and receivers, etc.) the SNA600a may work for you over greater than 100MHz bandwidth. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to email me directly at nick.mariano@lectrosonics.com or call 800-821-1121 x171 or ask for Nick if reception picks up the call. Q: 4. under optimal conditions, what is the range?

A: Under optimal conditions, you can get up to 1,000 ft of coverage with this transmitter and our LA-122 antenna. Different antenna's can have different coverage area's, with LA-122 giving the most. If you are looking for more coverage, I would recommend our 216 MHz system which can give up to 3,000 ft of coverage. Thank you.

Q: 5. Can I plug this directly into an SMV transmitter that's set to IFB mode and get a better signal?

A: Yes, in theory the Lectrosonics SNA600a Adjustable Dipole Antenna's BNC connection could be adapted to the "SMA" type antenna connection on a Lectrosonics SMv transmitter to widen the transmitters output signal.

Q: 6. What exactly do I need to connect the SNA600A to my Lectro src dual receiver? Do I need both the BNC cable and an adapter?

A: The Lectrosonics SNA600a Adjustable Dipole Antenna uses a 50 Ohm BNC connector to interface with the host device.

Q: 7. How i setup Lectrosonics SNA600a or Sennheiser A2003UHFwith Sennheiser Reiceiver 112G3? Is it feasible?

A: The SNA600a is like a slide rule. You loosen the screws and adjust the length so it matches the scale to the frequency you are operation on. Then tighten the screws and rotate the 2 arms so they are at 90 degreed to the scale. The Sennheiser antenna is not adjustable and covers the whole of the UHF range. These are 2 different kinds of antennas. The SNA600a is omnidirectional and the Sennheiser A2003UHF is directional. Which one is best would depend on the situation you are working in. Think of an omnidirectional mic vs. a cardioid. They have different pickup patterns and serve different purposes.

Q: 8. Can I use this antenna for a regular stereo receiver for listening to the radio?

A: The Listen Technologies LA-122 Universal Antenna Kit (72 and 216 MHz),BH # LILA122, is not designed for FM radio listening. Here is a compatible option: ANTOP Antennas AT-212FM Curved Panel Indoor Amplified AM/FM Antenna (Black), B&H # ANAT212FM

Q: 9. I’m interested in Lectrosonics SNA600a Adjustable Dipole Antenna. I have lectrosonics UCR 210d and 205d with UM 200C and UM 200B. Are They compatible or I will need something else? I’m gonna be waiting for your answer. All the best

A: This antenna is compatible with both of your receivers. You probably need two of them for best results.

Q: 10. Will this work for people that have hearing aids/cochlear implants?

A: The Listen Technologies Listen Everywhere 4-Channel Server BH #LILW200P0401 can work with these devices as the listener connects via a mobile app on their phones. If the listener can use headphones then they are all set.

This remote antenna greatly improved the range of our transmitter. We use the PPA transmitter for those in our congregation needing translation. Using the provided antenna screwed into the top of the transmitter our range was only 1/3 of our meeting area. We climbed in the attic and put this down next to the wall of our meeting area. Easy to do. We now have coverage of the entire building. Our building is made of bricks. The signal used to have to go through at least one brick wall to get to those wearing the headsets. This antenna now lays on the rafters above the brick walls. The headsets can now receive the transmissions throughout all of our meeting area (instead of only 1/3 of it) plus all hallways and restrooms. They can even hear from inside of some of the classrooms around our building. I would say that even if this were to be laying on the ground near the transmitter, it would give better range than the provided antenna. This purchase and effort to place this remote antenna was well worth the time, effort, and payment.

Because the Sennheiser receiver amplifier does not come with antennas these are a must have to boost the signal of the woefully inadequate antennas that come with the Sennheiser receivers. These are inexpensive and work well.

It was very easy to swap out the stock antennas (quarter-wave) with these, and we haven't had a signal dropout since. The small box contains two antennas. The BNC connectors attach firmly so you can angle them 45-degrees to either side as usual (to accommodate any polarization) and they don't fall over. The length might make it challenging to use this in a rack, but for tabletop use it's just fine.

The price is right and the antenna coverage is excellent. It certainly helps when the transmitter is located in a sheltered space.
