Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this the 1200D model or the 700D ?

A: The T5 would be the same as the 1200D.

Q: 2. What is the largest memory card size I may use in my Canon Rebel T5 camera?

A: I bought the 32GB Lexar professional gold. That holds a lot of pictures and I love the camera!

Q: 3. Can you view the pictures as you take them?

A: As with all DSLR cameras, whether using the optical viewfinder or the LCD screen, at the moment you press the shutter button and take the image for still image photography, the viewfinder and LCD screen will momentarily black out as the mirror blocks the viewfinder and the shutter opens to expose the sensor. However, you can set the camera to immediately review the still image on the LCD screen on the back of the camera. If you are recording video, the shutter stays open, so you would continually be able to view the recording image during video recording.

Q: 4. Does this camera have audio input and A/V outputs?

A: There are no audio or A/V inputs on the Rebel T5.

Q: 5. Why when i focuse via viewfinder it take up to 1sec but with live mode it took up to 6 sec?

A: The Canon EOS Digital Rebel T5 DSLR camera uses phase detection autofocus when using the camera's optical viewfinder, while contrast detection is used when using the camera's LCD screen to focus during Live View. Phase Detection autofocus is much faster and is the standard focusing system used on SLR/DSLR cameras when using the optical viewfinder. Contrast Detection autofocus is the standard focusing system used on many point-and-shoot cameras (and some DSLR cameras), which is why many point-and-shoot cameras traditionally focus slower than SLR/DSLR or other interchangeable lens cameras (some of this has changed on some cameras due to recent technology advances). However, as the Canon T5 uses contrast detection during Live View when using the LCD screen, it will focus more slowly compared to using the optical viewfinder. If you need faster autofocus when using the LCD viewfinder, as stated on page 74 of the camera's instruction manual, you would have to use the Quick Mode: AF Quick autofocus setting. However, as stated in the manual, although you may focus on the target subject quickly, the Live View image will be interrupted momentarily during the autofocus operation. This is because the camera shuts down Live View to use the regular phase detection focusing system. Refer to pages 71-75 in your instruction manual for Live View focusing options.

Q: 6. Does it come with a lense cap string?

A: No it does not.

Q: 7. Is the is camera Wi-Fi compatible ?

A: The T5 is not capable of WiFi connectivity.

Q: 8. What is the difference between a 55-250 lens and a 75-300?

A: Besides the focal length which is implied in its description, the 55-250 has optical stabilization but the 75-300 does not. Optical stabilization can be very important with zoom lenses depending on the type of photography.

Q: 9. Warranty or Protection Plan?

A: This product has a one year, limited manufacturer's warranty.

Q: 10. my eos rebel t5 has a problem that after some time of video recording it stops and some thing comes up on the screen video recording has stop automatically i have space on the memory card to cont recording and its always less then the 29:59 limit please help?

A: While page 81 of the instruction manual indicates the maximum recording time of one movie clip is 29 minutes, 59 seconds, it also indicates on the bottom of the camera that an increase of the camera's internal temperature may cause movie shooting to stop before the maximum recording shown on page 81. If you see the temperature Warning symbol shown on page 79 (on the center-right hand side of the display), that indicates the camera's internal temperature is higher than normal, and to prevent damage to the camera, recording may stop. It is recommended when shooting long videos to turn the camera off between clips or when the Temperature Warning symbol is indicated to allow the camera to cool down before resuming shooting.
