The Tiffen Series 9 Digital Diffusion/FX 4 Filter is a softening and diffusion filter specifically meant to appear invisible, as if no filtration is being applied. Compared to other diffusion filters, this filter offers virtually no flare or loss of contrast for more subtle applications. It helps to lessen facial blemishes, wrinkles, and gently smooth textured backgrounds while maintaining sharp focus. The 4 density provides a noticeable amount of softening.

This filter is constructed from Water White glass and is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings. This filter is compatible with Series 9 filter holders.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this have the Leica 6-Bit M-Coding?

A: No, the FotodioX Adapter for Canon EF and EF-S Lens to Leica M-Series Digital Camera, B&H #FOPLMACE • MFR # EOS-LM, listed above does not have 6-Bit M-coding. According to FotodioX's website, the MFR SKU number for their adapter with 6-Bit M-coding would be MFR # EOS-LM-6BT. Unfortunately, as of the date/time of this reply, we do not yet carry FotodioX's MFR # EOS-LM-6BT lens adapter in our inventory.

Q: 2. Which original Accesoires do I need to make the new x100v water resistent?

A: We recommend the ARX100 adapter ring and my recommendation for a filter would be high quality neutral clear 49mm filter.

Q: 3. I have a zeiss EF mount 50mm with the iris controlled internally by the camera. Will this adapter allow control of the iris even though the iris in not manual on the lens like the nikon or leica versions of this lens?

A: This adapter is fully manual and does not transfer any electronics to the camera. You will not have f/stop control. The lens and the adapter do not have an f/stop ring or iris.

Q: 4. Are the dimensions of the body the same as the X100F? I ask because I have a very nice leather case for my F, and am hoping it may fit the V.

A: The dimensions of the FUJIFILM X100V Digital Camera (Silver) (B&H# FUX100VS) are indeed very close to those of the previous model, the FUJIFILM X100F Digital Camera (Silver) (B&H# FUX100FS). However, the addition of a tilting feature to the rear screen of the X100V has slightly increased the total body thickness relative to that of the earlier X100F. As such, whether or not any tight-fitting case for the X100F will also fit the X100V will depend on the tightness of the tolerances of that case, and of course upon one's personal preference. We would not recommend using a case for the X100F with the X100V.

Q: 5. I have a zeiss ZE 50mm with the iris controlled by the camera. Not the manual Nikon or ZM versions where the iris in on the lens. Will this adapter allow control of the iris even though its not physically on the lens?

A: As I know for Leica M system, there is no electronic aperture or even no any electronic contact between lens and carmera. Hence, I think this adapter (or others) could not help you.

Q: 6. Does the lens allow for adding a neutral density or CP filter?

A: Yes, you can add 77mm filters to the lens of this camera.

Q: 7. How does this adapter work with rangefinder focusing? Does it pull up any frame lines? Last question - would it be better recommended to use an EVF or live view on say an m10 in order to appropriate use this lens?

A: It will work for manual focus using the screen you have focus peaking, however through the viewfinder there are no guide lines and because this has no electrical connection, you can't use any of the linear focusing motor lenses and can't adjust aperture on most of the Canon lenses. And in regards to your last question, using the screen would be the only way to ensure you can focus your photos properly.

Q: 8. How does one control the aperture setting of the EF/EF-S lens, when using this adapter?

A: There is no aperture control when using this adapter.

Q: 9. Can this be used with Techart's LM-EA7?

A: Unfortunately no, adapters cannot be combined.

Q: 10. Hi! does focusing works in the rangefinder of M9 while this adapter is attached?

A: Focusing is completely manual and without rangefinder.
