Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are there two lights included with this unit. Are the lights 5600K?

A: Yes, the kit comes with two Impact One Monolights. They are strobe type lights and are daylight rated.Note the camera you use this with needs to have a sync port or you will need to get an adapter or wireless sync. And this is made for still photos not video.

Q: 2. I was just wondering if anyone has replaced the modelling lamp with an LED light bulb? I imagine you could get a lot more light output from an LED bulb, especially a cree bulb. I understand it would have to be the dimmable variety...

A: It has not been tested by the manufacture. It is not recommended to do that as you can damage the electronics if there is a compatibility issue.

Q: 3. Will this work on a Novatron 240?

A: If you mean would you be able to use this product along with the Novatron 240, probably. The Novatron system does not have built-in optical slaves, but the monolights with this kit do, so you should be able to fire the Novatron system with you camera and let the optical slaves on this monolight kit fire them. You have to manually adjust the power settings on these to achieve proper exposure and the lighting effect you want.

Q: 4. Can this be used for outdoor portraits?

A: Probably not unless there is an outlet or something to plug into

Q: 5. What is the maximum watt light you can use?

A: These monolights can only except a modeling lamp up to 60 watts. The strobes themselves offer 100 watt/sec of power on each.

Q: 6. Does dimming this using an inline dimmer cause an audible hum? I'm trying to get new lights that don't do that. I know I can use scrims too, but I'd like the flexibility if possible. Thanks!

A: You're missing the point of these lamps. If you want to dim it, the best thing is the scrims. They are very effective. In addition, if you are opposed to using scrims for some reason, you have the option of pulling the bulb back. If you need more focus than when it is flooding, you can use barn doors, which you probably want any way. Finally, you can also use a 300W bulb instead of a 650W.

Q: 7. color mode?

A: It is a Tungsten light 3200K.

Q: 8. Looking for a replacement light for a Britek Halo Flood 1000P #H8048. Will this bulb fit that?

A: I don't know Curt. I do know that I bought this before reading the details. I should have bought the 110 volt, instead of the 220. I bought it for an Arri 1k.

Q: 9. How many strobes. How many soft boxes in the kit.? Modeling lights?

A: This kit would include two Impact EX 100 monolights, two softboxes with speed rings, two sync cables, two power cords, flashtube/modeling lamp for each head, a reflector for each head, spare fuses for each head, Impact 8 ft light stands and a 1 year warranty on each head. The only thing not included in this kit is a bag.

Q: 10. How long is the sync cord? Can you buy a sync cord in longer lengths?

A: The included sync cable is 15 feet long. You can an extension like the Impact Sync Cord Male PC to Female PC (16') B&H # IMPCMPCF16.

Fits everything and the construction is really high quality. It's a small bag that's easy to roll around and store away but it's also very roomy inside.

I own several Think Tank products, they are among the finest cases I've ever owned. The construction is first class and built tough for the long haul. I don't think there's a better and more thought out camera case out there. There are many designs to choose from. All top notch. Rockett

I bought this roller bag while in NY. I was toting two OMD 1 Mk 2 with lenses attached and carrying 1 extra. This bag saved my bag in the hot July heat. Its big enough for two mirrorless cameras with sense attached plus threes auxiliary lenses. I think it will handle the MZuiko 300mm just fine as well. The nice thing about this bag is that it is not too think and will fit on the regional jets. It is just the right size for not getting booted from the carry-on situations.

I haven't used it yet on the international flight. I bought it because of the weight limit for carry on and so I don't have to check my bag. And I have had to check my camera bag because of weight issues. There is more than enough space in the bag for my camera equipment and a long lens. I normally put a backpack in a regular roller and the weight increases too much. I am planning on just taking a couple of lenses and my Canon 5D Mark 4. I know what I will be shooting so there isn't a reason to bring alot of different lenses. I am sure this bag will fit the bill.

Finally free of DSLRs and moved mirrorless and equipment into this new bag. Body, 100-400, 18-135, 12-24 and 35mm prime on board with plenty of room for straps, batteries, charger, filters and such. All equipment in bag, weight nets out to 15.5 pounds or 7 kilograms. Not all that much, but wheels for the long hike to the gate will be appreciated. Soft handles are a nice touch, and straps for a small tripod are a bonus. Promised water bottle pocket...meh. Heading out tomorrow and am very pleased with my new purchase.
