Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the flash sync speed? I thought I read it was 1/200 of a second but that shutter speed does not appear on the shutter dial.

A: The flash sync speed is 1/200 and is set via the 'X' marking on the shutter speed dial.

Q: 2. what kind of memory cards sd?

A: One XQD and one SD

Q: 3. The Klosterman book says that You can make use of Live View focusing to automatically fine tune the autofocusing of individual lenses, to correct for back-focus or front-focus issues (see Figure 1.13 - left). The data acquired by the process is entered into the AF fine-tune item of the Setup Menu, and registered for the attached lens. Is this the same as a lens calibration, or do I still need to have my lenses calibrated to the camera?

A: Yes, what he is referring to is calibrating the lens to the camera.

Q: 4. I have a D3200 camera will my lenses I have fit the D850 camera?? Thanks

A: The D3200 is compatible with DX and FX lenses; the D850 is only compatible with FX lenses, so depending on which lenses you have, they may or may not be compatible with the D850.

Q: 5. Is there any builtin optical or digital stabilization for handheld video recording? Don't see it listed in the specs.

A: Actually, yes, but not in 4K video mode. 1080 video mode has an electronic stabilization on top of optical VR in the lens that can be used with or without lenses that have VR and gives a little bit more digital stabilization by cropping the video (so it's more of a 1.2x crop mode and not full frame, although it is still 1920x1080 in resolution). I don't use it much because when you intentionally want to pan it sort of sticks as it tries to digitally stabilize your footage and then suddenly jerks to catch up with your pan as you exceed it's crop range. Optical VR in the lens does not do this. You can use both optical and electronic independent of each other, and electronic stabilization only works with video, not live view for still shots.

Q: 6. Has anyone experienced same issue as I am having with flash high speed sync with nikon d850, SB-700 and pocket wizard flexTT5 + MiniTT1, I get black band as soon as I exceed 1/250sec shutter speed (auto FP IS ON); if I place the sb-700 directly on top of camera then everything work ( I can take pictures with no issues all the to 1/8000sec). I repeat same setup but with Nikon D810 and also works every time with flash on top or with pocket wizard. Any thoughts?

A: Solved! Need a firmware update to the Pocket wizard units. The update is available on the pocket wizard web site. I have not tried the update yet.

Q: 7. whats the best lens in the range of 24-105 or about that range f4 or less? Sigma, nikon, tameron or best option 24-70 f2.8. Looking at a general purpose carry around lens.

A: Its all a matter of preference. Personally, I stick with Nikon glass. The 24-120 f/4 is a great walk around lens and it has VR. The 24-70 f/2.8 (VR or non VR) is fantastic as well. The 28-300 f/5.6 is an option too. Fantastic optical quality for a reasonable price.

Q: 8. This isn't an international model, correct?

A: That is correct, this is NOT an international model of this camera.

Q: 9. Wifi?

A: Yes

Q: 10. yo voy a estar en New York el 16 de setiembre de este ao 2017, es posible que ya est a la venta en B&H en ese momento?

A: Es dificil decir. No tenemos una fecha firma de NIkon. Perone por cualquier inconvenecia que esto le e dado.
