Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. How many shutter actuations is the D850 rated for?
A: Remember that the D850 is a hybrid and has both a mechanical and electronic shutter. In the metadata, each one gets it's own count. The electronic shutter is considered to be life time whereas the mechanical shutter has a mathematical rating. This number means some cameras will fail before and others after. It has been shown many times that Nikon professional grade shutters, such as the one in the D850, exceed the rating consistently. The rating for the D850 is 200,000.
Q: 2. SDXC UHS-II?

Q: 3. Is the remote included?

Q: 4. Will the Nikon 850D shoot HDR in camera?

Q: 5. video - is that 10 bit 4:2:2 or 8 bit 4:2:2 ?
A: Internal recording is 8 bit 4:2:0 while external HDMI is 8 bit 4:2:2
Q: 6. Anyone upgrade from a D750? Was the upgrade worth it?
A: Whether it's worth it will vary by your use case. For the most part, a D750 can do 95% of what the D850 can do. There are basically four reasons to upgrade, and only you can decide if any of those reasons are sufficient for your purposes: 1) You simply must have the most advanced camera Nikon makes short of the truly professional models like the D5 or D6 and cost is not a consideration. 2) You need or want the highest resolution camera that Nikon makes. For most people, the difference between 24mp on the D750 and 45mp on the D850 isn't particularly useful or even noticable for all but the biggest enlargements but it may be for some people. 3) You need the ability to shoot more frames more quickly than the D750 can - for example of you do a lot of photography of sporting events or birds in flight where more and faster frames may result in more "keeper" shots. 4) You need or want the improved 3D tracking that the autofocus in the D850 can provide. This is tightly coupled with reason 3. Landscape photographers and casual shooters of family events are unlikely to notice any useful improvement in results.
Q: 7. The Klosterman book says that You can make use of Live View focusing to automatically fine tune the autofocusing of individual lenses, to correct for back-focus or front-focus issues (see Figure 1.13 - left). The data acquired by the process is entered into the AF fine-tune item of the Setup Menu, and registered for the attached lens. Is this the same as a lens calibration, or do I still need to have my lenses calibrated to the camera?
A: Yes, what he is referring to is calibrating the lens to the camera.
Q: 8. what kind of memory cards sd?
A: One XQD and one SD
Q: 9. Has anyone experienced same issue as I am having with flash high speed sync with nikon d850, SB-700 and pocket wizard flexTT5 + MiniTT1, I get black band as soon as I exceed 1/250sec shutter speed (auto FP IS ON); if I place the sb-700 directly on top of camera then everything work ( I can take pictures with no issues all the to 1/8000sec). I repeat same setup but with Nikon D810 and also works every time with flash on top or with pocket wizard. Any thoughts?
A: Solved! Need a firmware update to the Pocket wizard units. The update is available on the pocket wizard web site. I have not tried the update yet.
