This 112mm Tokina PRO IRND Filter is an ND filter with an 8x filter factor that provides a 3-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

The design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light, compared to traditional film, color casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times. To provide a high level of neutrality across the visible and infrared spectrums in order to eliminate color casts and ensure cleaner, truer blacks, each glass surface includes one layer of ACCU-ND Vapor Deposition coating.

This Tokina 112mm PRO IRND 0.9 Filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity and features an aluminum-alloy filter ring.

0.9 neutral density filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.

Providing a 3 stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.

Each glass surface includes one ACCU-ND Vapor Deposition coating to attenuate infrared light, as well as visible wavelengths, to maintain color neutrality and suppress color casts due to increased exposure times.

Constructed from optical glass for clarity.

112mm front filter threads allow for use with other filters.

Padded pouch included for storage and transport.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. one paragraph specifically says "This filter IS designed for direct solar viewing" then another paragraph says it is NOT ?

A: The Kolari Vision Pro IRND Filter (20-Stop, 77mm) does not allow direct solar viewing with your bare eyes/optical viewfinder. It allows for solar photography.

Q: 2. Schneider sells IR cut filters rated for 750nm and 680nm respectively. Do we know at what infrared wavelength this filter begins to cut light?

A: This filter does not cut light at specific nm, but cots down the light by 6 stops compared to what is available at the time of shooting.

Q: 3. Does this fits Tilta 4 x 5.65" Stackable Filter Tray Holder (BH #TIMBT16SFH)?

A: According to Tilta, the Mirage-system supports 2mm and 4mm filters like this Nano IRND 2.1 filter. The issue with your question, however, is that the stackable filter tray holder is not the device you need to hold the filter. You need TIMBT16SFT (stackable filter tray) AND TIMBT16SFH (stackable filter tray HOLDER) to work with the Mirage matte box.

Q: 4. will this fit the tilta mini matte box?

A: Yes the NiSi 4 x 5.65" Nano IRND 0.3 Filter (1-Stop) BH #NIRND034X565 • MFR #NIC-4565-ND0.3 will fit the Tiltaing Mini Matte Box BH #TIMBT15 • MFR #MB-T15.

Q: 5. Does this filter fit inside Tilta Mini Matte Box 82mm adapter ring?

A: Yes.

Q: 6. Will my lens hood still fit on my lens with this filter?

A: Typically this is determined by the lens in question, but because the front and back are the same diameter, it shouldn't be an issue.

Q: 7. Will this fit a Lee Filter holder?

A: Yes.

Q: 8. Does the IR cut cause vignetting on wide angle lenses? I'd like to use this on the Tokina 11-20mm.

A: You may get some vignetting on the wide end.

Q: 9. Does this have the scratch resistant coating which was demonstrated at NAB 2016?

A: Scott, these particular NiSi filters do have a scratch resistant coating, BUT, it is not the same as what was demonstrated during NAB 2016. NiSi has a new line of filters with a very strong scratch-resistant coating coming out later this year. That is what was being demonstrated at NAB 2016.

Q: 10. Will this filter work in a Lee Foundations filter holder?

A: Yes it does
