Q: 1. I know there is an E-mount version, but I want the versatility of a PL mount to use with Arri cameras, so the question is.....Is there a crop factor or any magnification when using the PL mounted Laowa with a Metabones E mount adaptor?

A: It would depend on if your E-mount camera is full frame and your selected Metabones mount; however, if you used the Metabones ARRI PL Lens to Sony E-mount Camera T Adapter (Black), B&H # MEMBPLEBT2, with the Venus Optics Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens (ARRI PL, Cine-Mod Version) on a full-frame camera, there will not be any crop.

Q: 2. Is there a Cine-mod version for the Nikon F-mount?

A: We do not have a Cinema Modified version of this lens in an F-Mount at this time. The F-Mount version only comes in the non-modified form, BH #VE2414N.

Q: 3. Would this lens be compatible with Super 35 sized sensors that have EF Mounts? Panasonic Eva 1 or Canon c300 mark II for example.

A: Yes it will. This covers up to a Full Frame Sensor. It will cover Super 35mm sensors fine.

Q: 4. Ist the PL Cinemod version of this lens going to be geared?

A: Yes, it is geared.

Q: 5. Does it work only with arri PL mounts?, and can you work with metabones?

A: BH #VE2414PL is the PL Mount version of this lens. We also have BH #VE2414CC which is the EF mount version. You may be able to use it with adapters depending on the camera mount you have as well.

Q: 6. Does this lens come with a dimmer cable for the l.e.d. lights on the lens face?

A: No, it comes with a metallic combo-lock hard case, a zippered soft case, instructions, micro usb to usb braided cable without dimmer control. There is a dimmer USB cable you can buy aftermarket on eBay, but it is a third party accessory.

Q: 7. Does the cine mod version offer both auto and manual focus or is is manual focus only?

A: Manual focus only.

Q: 8. Does BH sell a support for this lens?

A: At this time we do not carry a customized lens support unique to this lens. We recommend using normal lens supports such as the Tilta 15mm LWS Rod Lens Support (BH #TILST05 • MFR #LS-T05)

Q: 9. Is the Integrated Focus and Aperture Gears the only difference between the Cine-Mod version and the normal one? Is there another thing for which to pay $ 200 USD extra? LED with a higher CRI?

A: The integrated focus and aperture gears are the difference between this lens and B&H # VE2414C. The LED is the same on both units.

Q: 10. Does this lens need a neutral density filter in the EF adaptor for Canon?

A: The Venus Optics Laowa 24mm f/14 Probe Lens does not need a neutral density filter.
