This 112mm Tokina PRO IRND Filter is an ND filter with a 16x filter factor that provides a 4-stop exposure reduction. Its 1.2 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

The design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light, compared to traditional film, color casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times. To provide a high level of neutrality across the visible and infrared spectrums in order to eliminate color casts and ensure cleaner, truer blacks, each glass surface includes one layer of ACCU-ND Vapor Deposition coating.

This Tokina 112mm PRO IRND 1.2 Filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity as well as color fidelity and features an aluminum-alloy filter ring.

Providing a 4 stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.

Each glass surface includes one ACCU-ND Vapor Deposition coating to attenuate infrared light, as well as visible wavelengths, to maintain color neutrality and suppress color casts due to increased exposure times.

Constructed from optical glass for clarity.

112mm front filter threads allow for use with other filters.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can another filter be stacked on top of this?

A: Yes, Kolari Vision Pro IRND Filter (95mm, 2-Stop) has a 95mm front and back threads. You can connect filters or lens caps to the front threads.

Q: 2. Would this pair well with the Nisi ND-Vario Pro Nano 1-5 stops, to create a variable 4-8 stops ND?

A: While the NiSi 72mm PRO Nano IRND 0.9 Filter (3-Stop) does have a front thread, it is not advisable to use two variable ND filters at the same time as it would create undesirable results.

Q: 3. I bought three of these (2/4/6 stops) and only this 2 stop 4x4 doesn't fit into SmallRig Lightweight Matte Box. If all of them didn't fit I'd easily blame it on SmallRig as it's a super low level item, but apparently QC from Nisi is subpar?

A: NiSi have provided an exchange option for this inquiry.

Q: 4. will this fit in to a LEE 100 system?

A: Yes. Lee systems adapts to all 4x4, 4x6 and all 100mm filters

Q: 5. Are these the same glass as that found on their cine versions?

A: I contacted NiSi concerning your inquiry. According to the manufacturer, yes, the NiSi 77mm HUC PRO Nano IRND 1.8 Filter (6-Stop) uses the same optical grade glass as used in their standard square filters and their Cinema line filters. They state the only filters in their inventory that use B270 Schott glass would be the filters in their 100mm wide Explorer line, which are not available in the circular format.

Q: 6. Is the gasket pre-installed?

A: Yes, the gasket is attached to the filter.

Q: 7. I need an additional adapter glass to use an additional 4x4 ND filter in my v5 filter box. Does this come with the adapter glass? If not, how can I get one?

A: This will work in a Nisi V5 without an adapter.

Q: 8. will this fit the tilta mini matte box?

A: Yes the NiSi 4 x 5.65" Nano IRND 0.3 Filter (1-Stop) BH #NIRND034X565 • MFR #NIC-4565-ND0.3 will fit the Tiltaing Mini Matte Box BH #TIMBT15 • MFR #MB-T15.

Q: 9. I have a mirrorless camera that I had converted for IR photography; regular ND filter do not have any effects on exposure; I want to shoot IR with long exposure, will this NiSi IRND do the job?

A: No, the NiSi 82mm PRO Nano IRND 3.0 Filter (10-Stop) would not be compatible for your usage needs. It does the opposite of what you are looking for; it is designed to block IR to the extent that there will not be infrared pollution when taking a long exposure. As an alternative, the filters in the NiSi Swift FS ND Filter Kit (82mm), B&H # NIRFSNDSWK82, are designed to pass all wavelengths of light evenly, so this would also be an alternative for your usage needs. Also, as standard neutral density filters pass along infrared light unless it specifically indicates it has IR reduction, a filter such as the Hoya ProND EX 1000 Filter (82mm, 10-Stop), B&H # HOPNDEX1T82, should also work for your usage needs. https://bhpho.to/3ieQ30o https://bhpho.to/3LZm8bn

Q: 10. Will this fit a Lee Filter holder?

A: Yes.
