A: This head has a 75mm half-ball connection. The only way to connect it to a slider would be with a Hi-Hat Riser with a 75mm bowl, such as the Ikan RSR6. You could also look in to a different video head such as the Miller DS-20. It is a very high quality fluid head with a 75mm half ball which can be removed to provide a 3/8 connection to attach directly to a slider.

A: Hi Jane, I just bought the FSB 6 to use with my 8 lb., very long digiscoping system, and it was very limited in the settings I could use. I had to use the drag setting on the highest drag in order to help the counter balance. I contacted Sachtler in EU and they put me in contact with Vinten in the U.S., and they were nice enough to allow me to try an FSB 8 and the Vinten Vision Blue. The FSB8 was okay. I LOVED the Vision Blue but it wasn't quite robust enough for my system. I ended up returning the FSB 6 and I bought the Vision Blue3. The only challenge was that even though I have the RRS TVC-33 legs with a 75mm bowl, the leveling didn't work as the part of the handle that comes in contact with the tripod from underneath was too big. A machinist friend of mine is modifying it as I write this so it will be compatible. I wrote the company in the UK, and the threaded rod that comes out of the Vision Blue and VB3 is NOT removable, so it would not work with your tripod legs. You would need to check, but I do think the rod on the FSB heads is removable, but with an 11 lb. system I would guess that the FSB8 would be the way to go, not the 6. I absolutely love the Vision Blue3 that I ended up with, but note it is special order and not returnable at B&H. If you have an opportunity, I would strongly recommend trying both the Sachtlers and Vintens before you purchase. I hope that helps!
