Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work on a sigma 100-400mm lens?

A: Sorry this teleconverter's compatibility list does not mention this lens. In fact, Sigma does not list any teleconverter for any of their 100-400mm lenses. Sorry.

Q: 2. Is this dock compatible with Sigma 150-600 Sports Lens?

A: Thank you for your interest in Sigma products. The USB Dock is compatible with the 150-600mm Sports lens. You just have to make sure that lens mount is the same as the USB Dock. For example, If the 150-600mm Sports lens is for Canon, then you will need the Canon mount USB Dock. The USB Dock will work with our Art, Sport, Contemporary lenses. However it will not work with the DN lenses.

Q: 3. The spec lists compatibility with the 70-200 f2.8, but not f4.0... Does it really not work with the f4 version?

A: Sigma does not manufacture a 70-200mm lens with a constant f/4 maximum aperture.

Q: 4. Does this work on 17-70 contemporary lens?

A: The Sigma TC-2001 2x Teleconverter for Sigma SA will not be compatible with the Sigma Contemporary 17-70mm lens, no. This teleconverter is only compatible with a select number of Sigmas telephoto zoom lenses. Typically, lenses with a focal length wider than 50mm are not compatible with teleconverters due to their lens construction. Attempting to use a teleconverter with a lens with a focal length wider than 50mm, you would risk damaging the rear element of the lens and the teleconverter itself.

Q: 5. I'm a little confused about the lens/mount requirements. I have a Nikon D610 camera and am going to purchase the Sigma contemporary 150-600mm lens for my Nikon camera. Which dock do I purchase...the one fpr sigma lenses or another for (Nikon) F-Mount lenses??

A: Chester,For your D610 (or any other Nikon) you will need the USB Dock for Nikon F mount. If you are using Windows 7 Pro make sure the dock and lens communicate properly as soon as you receive it. Mine does not recognize the lens. B&H sent a second USB dock with the same results. I contacted Sigma who recommended I send the lens and dock together in to them to test. I did and they said it tested out fine and the problem must be with my computer (they suspected the antivirus software). I tried it with the antivirus disabled with the same results. I updated all the drivers for the chipset, LAN and USB devices and still got the same results. My GPS, weather station and all other USB devices work fine. I'm keeping the dock so if I have access to another computer at one point I can try to get it working.

Q: 6. Anybody have a good solution to use Vari ND filters on this lens?

A: Unfortunately there is not yet a holder that can accommodate a variable ND filter for this lens.

Q: 7. How does this perform with canon 90D?

A: The 90D is a crop sensor camera so you will have crop of a 1.6 on the canon bodies. Making this lens a 22.5mm (Full Frame FOV)

Q: 8. Will this focal length result in vignetting on a full frame camera? I currently have a Tokina 11-20mm and it vignettes hard below 16mm.

A: DG is Sigma's full frame series, the DC is their cropped sensor series. The lens displays a slight amount of vignetting in the corners when shot wide open at f/1.8, which is corrected with Lightroom when using the lens profile.

Q: 9. is there available a sigma usb dock for sony/Minolta a mount lenses?

A: Unfortunately, we do not carry the Sigma USB Dock for Sony A-mount lenses at this time.

Q: 10. I have a Sony a6500 with a Sigma 150-600mm lens. Is there a dock that will work with this lens?

A: The Sigma USB Dock for Sony A-Mount Lenses is only compatible with your Sigma 150-600mm f/5-6.3 DG lens if the lens have a dedicated mount to Canon EF, Canon EF-M, Leica-L, Nikon F, Pentax K, Sigma SA, or Sony A (DSLR cameras). TYou could only attached those lenses if you were using an adaptor. If you are connecting your lens directly to the camera mount, you own a Sony E mount lens. At this Sigma has not yet realease a dock station for Sony E mount.
