The Patron Umbrella from Novoflex has multiple uses for the photographer working in the field. Not only has it been designed as a rain or sun shield, but with its optional 29.5 x 29.5" reflection foils, the Patron can be used as a traditional 44.9" photo umbrella. The outside surface is silver that also works as a reflector. In addition, when the Patron is turned inside out, it can serve as an emergency 8-legged camera stand or tripod capable of supporting mirrorless or compact cameras.

The Patron has a 30.7 to 45.7" telescopic shaft with a 1/4-20 mount for a ball head that turns it into a monopod. The shaft is also usable as an extension arm for high-angled photography or as a way to shoot over barriers or when you're in the middle of a crowd.

When working outdoors and mounted to a tripod with its optional accessory, the Patron works as a UV coated protective shield with a 50+ sunscreen factor that allows you to work handsfree while you and your gear are protected from heat and moisture. It's also portable since it includes a carrying case, shoulder strap and backpack mounts.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can you do a 30 seconds exposure using this?

A: I use my PISTOCK-C to support binoculars. Based on that, I very much doubt anyone could hold still enough over 30 seconds to get a non-blurry picture.

Q: 2. weight limiT?

A: This is meant for camera set up's weighing up to 8 lbs.

Q: 3. why is the G lens, not D lens?

A: The NIKKOR G lens version features built-in aperture control. You can still use a Nikon D series lens with this adapter, however please note no electronic lens functions are retained.

Q: 4. Will this adaptor allow me to use my Canon FD lenses on a LUMIX S1H?

A: Yes, this adapter will allow for the use of Canon FD lenses on the Panasonic S1H.

Q: 5. Does it work with Sony Emount glass?

A: No, the Novoflex MFT/MIN-AF Sony/Minolta AF Lens Adapter is not designed for use with Sony E-mount lenses; it is designed to allow you to connect lenses that use the larger Sony A-mount/Minolta MAXXUM lens mount to mirrorless digital cameras/camcorders that use the Micro Four Thirds lens mount.

Q: 6. I have a Nikon D300S and intend to use a portrait lens with the Novoplex Chrstpod. What else do I need to enable quick transition from landscape tp portrait positions. What compatible L-bracket, quick release, or other accessory should I use in conjunction w/ this equipment?

A: completely adjustable.

Q: 9. Dear friend, how can I adjust the aperture with this thing?

A: Canon FD lenses are manual lenses , you control (adjust) the aperture on the lens

Q: 10. Will this work with. Tamron 150-600mm mounted on a Nikon D7200? I shoot BIF and wildlife.

A: The usefulness of this device comes down to personal preference. In the movie business we called it doing whatever it takes to get the shot! From what I see of birders and my own shooting of wildlife, I would recommend you first try using the Tamron lens hand-held, particularly for BIF. If you find yourself tiring or you need to keep the lens to your eye for long periods (on a nest for example) then give this a try and it may be the answer for you.
