Adding a priece of glass would only absorb light, and deflect it wider or narrower. Wider would essentially make it lose light and become a longer focal lengthed lens. While narrowing it would be nice to capture what a full frame sensor sees with more light.If you have a sony e mount camera with a full frame (FE mount) this will work as best as the lens can do. If you have a sony e mount crop sensor (just E mount) then you might look for an adapter with glass. Almost all FD lenses were made for full frame support.
