Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. In which country is this amp manufactured?

A: It is manufactured in Japan.

Q: 2. We can possible to connect a 2 PAgoldwood 10 inch speaker 300watts in this amplifier?

A: Most likely yes, i would check the ohm load requirement on the speaker just to safe.

Q: 3. Does this receiver have a connection for a ground wire from another component?

A: There is no grounding terminal. try using the screw on the faceplate of your electrical outlet.

Q: 4. Can I hook a pre amp to this?

A: Yes, you can connect the pre-amp to one of its Line-in connections. I am currently using a turntable with a built-in pre-amp to a Line-in connection, works great.

Q: 5. Can you play different sources on channel A and B at the same tine?

A: No it cannot.

Q: 6. What is the best way to connect R-S202 to Pioneer FS52 Floor Standing Speakers, using regular wiring or bi-wiring?

A: The choice and preference is totally up o you. Proponents of the practice point to the obvious sonic benefits they can hear after bi-wiring their speakers, citing the fact that speaker manufacturers make the terminals available, as proof that there must be something in it. Detractors argue that manufacturers are merely maximising the marketability of their products by offering a feature that costs little extra to implement but probably doesn’t make any sonic difference. They also point out that there is no real published evidence to prove that the practice makes any audible difference, whereas the bi-wire enthusiasts theorise that by separating the high and low frequencies into different wires, distortions caused by interactions between them can be eliminated.

Q: 7. Can I connect an external equalizer?

A: The only way to connect an external equalizer to the Yamaha R-S202 would be to go from the output on one of your input devices, into the equalizer and then into one of the RCA inputs on the back of the Yamaha R-S202.

Q: 8. Any problems using my 6 ohm Pioneer SP-BS22LR speakers with this receiver?

A: The Yamaha is going to over power the speakers, so you will need to watch the volume.

Q: 9. Does this amplifier can be used for bose acoustimass 2speaker system?

A: Yes you can. I just looked at the Bose Manual online and after you follow the directions for connecting the satelite spkrs to the main unit, you just connect the Left and Right of the main unit to the R-S202 L & R spkr outputs!!! Have Fun

Q: 10. Can I use 4 ohm speakers into this receiver?

A: Yes, you can connect speakers of any impedance to to this receiver. With that being said, the performance of this amplifier will vary depending on the power requirements of the speakers and the volume you are trying to play at. The lower the impedance of the speaker the greater the wattage output of the receiver could be. As with any receiver, volume should never be run so high that you experience distortion in the speakers; this would indicate the amplifier is too powerful for your speakers. If you are experiencing clean sound, but the amplifier is overheating and shutting itself off, you are running the receiver too "hot" (volume too high to accommodate for sudden spikes like a cymbal crash or thunder) and would need a receiver with more watts per channel.
