The LEE Filters 150 x 150mm #16 Yellow Orange Filter is a basic contrast filter, primarily for use with black and white film, that strongly darkens skies, reduces blues, and increases overall contrast. It provides a more noticeable increase in contrast compared to the #15 deep yellow filter, and also absorbs a small amount of green for darkening foliage. There is an approximate 1.5x filter factor with this filter, requiring an increase of 0.6 stop for normal exposure.

This filter is constructed from optically correct resin, measures 5.9 x 5.9" / 150 x 150mm, and is compatible with the LEE SW150 filter holder.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. i want to purchase this filter please let me know that it is compatible with sony lences if not than which filter system i need to purchase i have 7rm2

A: Amit, to use the filter you have asked about you need to also have the filter holder, and the lens adaptor that are shown. The lens adaptor allows the filter holder to attach to the lens. The lens adaptor you choose must be based on the diameter of lens that you are going to use it on. So if you are going to use it on a 77mm diameter lens then you need to buy the 77mm adaptor similar to the one shown. If you have the correct lens adaptor and the SW150 Mark II adaptor as shown then the filter will be compatible with your lens. Typically the 150mm filter is for use on large diameter wide angle lenses. If yours is not this type of lens then you may want to use the 100mm or 75mm filters and required lens holder and adaptor. Alternatively you can purchase round ND filters that screw directly onto your lens without the need for a filter holder and adaptor, but make sure you order the correct diameter filter. Hope this helps.

Q: 2. 150x150 Lee Big Stopper can it be used for Solar Eclipse?

A: No, you must use a solar filter.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with the SW150 original (Mark 1) system?

A: Yes, this is compatible

Q: 4. Will this filter fit into the 4 x4, 4 x6 Lee filter hollder?

A: This is designed for the Lee Filter 150 System and the Mark II version which has a Lightguard in the II system that did not exist in the I version. I have the Mark II Holder sand have no problems with this filter used in it. Mixing and matching mfrs is not always a good idea.

Q: 5. Can I put the LEE Filters in each pocket without other protection (soft clothes or similar) or are the well protected by the inner surface of the pouch?

A: Filters placed inside this pouch would already be well protected since there are individual slots for each filter.

Q: 6. is there a filter holder for this 150 x 150 filter that will fit on a Nikon 300mm f2.8G lens?

A: Unfortunately, no. The SW150 filter holder pairs with adapters for common front filter thread diameters and adapters custom-designed to fit onto select ultra-wide lenses. I admit I do not own a Nikon 300mm f/2.8G. My understanding is that they use 52mm drop-in filters. If there is an available empty drop in filter holder capable of holding third party filters, your best option would be to buy a 52mm solar filter and drop that in. If that is not possible, then your best bet for using that lens would be to try rigging a DIY means of holding this filter to the front or, prefereably, using a different lens compatible with some type of solar filter. Best of luck.

Q: 8. Will the Big Stopper fit with the metal case?

A: No, it doesn't fit with the metal case. But I store the Big Stopper in one of the dividers, among other Lee filters, and they are all well protected.

Q: 9. Will this fit 100x100 filters like the Lee Big Stopper?
