This 67mm Tiffen Water White Glass IRND Filter is an ND filter with a 8x filter factor that provides a 3-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.9 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters are intended to not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

The design of this filter has been optimized for use with digital sensors and to promote nearly flat attenuation of visible light and infrared light. Due to imaging sensors' greater susceptibility to infrared light, compared to traditional film, color casts can occur when photographing darker subjects that require increased exposure times.

This filter is constructed from Water White glass for increased clarity as well as color fidelity. It is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

0.9 neutral density filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.

Providing a 3-stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

Attenuates infrared light to maintain color neutrality and suppress color casts due to increased exposure lengths.

Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.

Constructed from Water White glass for increased optical clarity.

67mm front filter threads allow for use with other filters.

Plastic filter case for storage and transport.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are these the same glass as that found on their cine versions?

A: I contacted NiSi concerning your inquiry. According to the manufacturer, yes, the NiSi 77mm HUC PRO Nano IRND 1.8 Filter (6-Stop) uses the same optical grade glass as used in their standard square filters and their Cinema line filters. They state the only filters in their inventory that use B270 Schott glass would be the filters in their 100mm wide Explorer line, which are not available in the circular format.

Q: 2. Does the Hoya MKII IRD have front threads in order to mount additional NDs ?

A: Yes, the Hoya HD MKII IR ND1000 Neutral Density Filter includes front filter threads so you can attach additional ND filters or a protective lens cap.

Q: 3. Is the front of this threaded to stack a diffusion filter with?

A: The front threading is mainly for use with a standard pinch type lens cap but it can also accept another filter.

Q: 4. Does anyone know what it's: "IR Attenuation" ?

A: IR attenuation in the Ice 82mm Slim IRND1000 Filter (10-Stop) means that the filter reduces the amount of infrared light that can reach the camera sensor.

Q: 5. Can this be used as a drop-in filter (with the threaded drop-in) with Canon 300mm f2.8L IS USM II & 600mm f4L IS USM II lenses?

A: Yes, the Hoya HD MKII IR ND8 Neutral Density Filter (52mm) can be used as a drop-in Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM Lens and the Canon EF 600mm f/4L IS II USM Lens.

Q: 6. Will this fit over a 67 mm B&W ND filter on my lens or do I need to remove the ND filter first. Also, will a 67mm lens cap fit on this Syrp ND filter?

A: If your existing filter has 67mm front filter threads, you can attach a Syrp 67mm Variable Neutral Density Filter to it. It isn't recommended to use more than one ND filter at a time, however. You can attach a 67mm lens cap to this filter.

Q: 7. What size is the front filter thread?

A: 7artisans Photoelectric 82mm 8-Stop Variable ND Filter does not have front threads. You can not stack another filter or cap on top of this ND.

Q: 8. Will this filter work in a Lee Foundations filter holder?

A: Yes it does

Q: 9. Does this filter have a hard stop at both ends or does it continuously turn?

A: Continuously turn

Q: 10. Will this fit the Nisi 75mm filter holder?

A: If the holder works with 75x75mm filters then yes you can use this in it. This should work with any 75x75 Filter Holder.
