The 28mm f/2.0 Ultron Vintage Aspherical VM Lens Type I from Voigtlander is a classic length wide-angle lens with a bright, fast aperture for use in low-light situations and for more control over depth-of-field. The redesigned compact Ultron lens features improved aspherical optical performance using 10 lens elements in seven groups, which features one aspherical element and two abnormal partial dispersion elements for corner to corner sharpness and realistic color rendering. The black and chrome lens barrel has classic retro design styling to match vintage camera bodies and accent modern body designs.

The versatile VM mount easily adapts to other popular lens mounts via Voigtländer close focus VM-mount adapters to Sony E-, FUJIFILM X-, and Nikon Z-mount cameras.

Love this lens. It’s small, lightweight but SOLID, and renders images beautifully. Some slight vignetting when near f/2, but it just further adds character to the image. It’s also very sharp, but does not give a clinical look. Absolutely recommend this lens. 5

Please take into account, if you are using this on a rangefinder camera such as the Leica M, the viewfinder can show focus only up to .7 meter; whilst this lens can focus closer than the rangefinder can show. I didn't know this at first, so I thought I got a bad copy!!! So you just have to be carful when reaching the camera rangefinder minimum focus distance and maybe use live view to focus beyond the rangefinder limit. 5

If you want a top performing 28mm 2.0 M type lens, this is it. It was designed and built to very high standards. The lens barrels are made from brass, not aluminum or plastic. Voigtlander has another gem in their line of VM lenses. 5

This lens performs just as well as the Leica Summicron (not the $8,195 APO-Summicron though), for a much lower price. It can also focus closer .58 cm vs Leica's .7 cm. It's very small and is also black paint. I guess my only (small) complaint, is that it does not come with any hood but I actually don't mind some flare so I seldom shoot with a hood anyways. All in all, this is an outstanding lens for the price. In terms of image quality, it outperforms the Voigtlander 35mm f1.2 and f1.4 lenses, all which I have owned. 5

Use this lens with the Sony A7R IV and the Voigtlander Close Focus Adapter II. It's an amazing combination for a very compact and lightweight solution in the field, street and travel. Also own the Voigtlander 21mm f/1.4 Nokton Aspherical but this lens is sharper and a fraction of the weight and size. One can still use focus peaking but you have to manually invoke focus magnification. It's not a huge price to pay for this gem of a lens. 5

I bought this to do street photography with on my Leica. I needed something small that handles well and is easy to use. This lens fits the bill and priced much better than alternatives. I'm not a lens expert and I have no clue how sharp it is in comparison to its competitors but I have already made some nice photos with it. I've also owned the 2.5 color Skopar and it handles similarly. If you don't care about price, get this one. If you want something cheaper, get the Skopar and you'll be happy with that one as well. 5

Love this little lens. Great alternative to the 28 summicron. It’s sharp, compact, and cheap. If you like 28mm and don’t need a lens faster than f/2, get this. 5
