Q: 9. Is there a space for a hydration bladder like a Cabelbak or similar?

A: Not easily, you could put a bladder in the back of the bag but because it is meant for camera gear, you would have to take extra measures to ensure your bladder doesn't leak.

Q: 10. Is the outside bottom of the bag coated or sealed in case you set it down on damp or dirty ground?

A: MindShift Gear TrailScape 18L Backpack bottom has the same nylon material as the rest of the bag. If you rest the backpack on the floor the outer surface of the back will get damp. The backpack comes with a rain cover which protects the bag from the elements.

Hailing from Australia I was nervous about international shipping more so than the quality of the bag (which had received great reviews). Although I'm late to the party, this bag is excellent. The service from B&H was exemplary and I will have no hesitation ordering from them online again soon.

I love this bag. I wish it were a little larger though. I have made it work with two pro bodies (those with vertical grips) very comfortable.

I've been using this bag for over a week now. It was a painstaking task to choose a bag that would fit all my gear as well as my personal items. This bag shines! I even have room to add even more than I normally carry. I was hesitant to get this bag only due to the back access to my gear, but now that I have it and use it, it's marvelous. I don't have to take my bag off to access anything. I keep my 150-600mm lens mounted and it's easy to get it out and shoot. Even if you decide to put the bag down to access your gear, the part touching the ground is not the part that will touch your back once you put the bag back on your back. The belt and chest straps help to alleviate the weight on your shoulders. If you're like me and you don't like getting hooked up in the bag and camera straps, I've found the OpTech Uni loops to be a great addition to this bag. Attach a pair of loops to the camera and another pair to the bag with the Uni Adapter and now the weight of the camera is on the bag, and your hands are free!

Having suffered BAS (bag acquisition syndrome) over many years, along with my changing cameras and lenses I have found a bag that's superb for my current needs. I can pack my Sony A9, Sony 16-35mm + 24-70mm + 70-200mm lenses, a Laowa Venus 15mm f2 lens, my 15 my 13 laptop, iPad, and accessories comfortably into this bag. This is the kit I'll be taking to Iceland early next year.

Fantastic backpack! Looks and feels sleek, but it has plenty of space for photo gear and forsnacks, a jacket & water bottles. The hip belt and shoulder straps are comfortable, and the hip belt really supports the weight of the pack. The zippers are strong and smooth, with big pulls. Access through the back panel works well, partly because the hip belt and shoulder straps are designed to be flexible enough to easily fold out of the way. I wanted to be able to carry my Nikon 200-500 lens mounted to a body, along with a second body and a few more lenses. The pack can do it. The 200-500 is distinctly bigger than a 70-200 f2.8 zoom, yet it's not so huge as to require a dedicated backpack (like Think Tank's Glass Taxi). To make room for the 200-500, I had to remove one of the vertical partitions and adjust the other one. The backpack is fully lined with velcro loop material, which makes it easy to move the partitions around. (I found it helpful to scavenge an extra partition or two from other camera bags- Mindshift includes plenty with the pack, but only in a couple of different sizes). The interior dimensions stated by B&H are accurate. The backpack is deep enough to store a D7100 sideways, which helps (a full-frame SLR might not work). In any case, after adjusting partitions I was able to fit everything. Well-made, comfortable, carries a ton of gear, not excessively bulky. Not cheap, but easily worth it.

I was looking for a bag to not only carry my camera gear, but also a small laptop (Surface Book)in a protected space. Not only was there room for the Surface Book, there was also enough room to carry a bag containing additional computer accessories that I thought I'd need. On top of all that there was room for additional items that I needed to carry with me, not in my luggage. The only problem with it was the weight, which was probably approaching 30 lbs., not something I'm used to carrying with me. The bag is very comfortable to wear and the waist belt is a joy--heavily padded. It was also nice to have a bag that wasn't the same color as everyone else's. I like being a bit different. :) I only wish it had more closable pocket space, particularly inside the cover where the computer resides. It wasn't a deal breaker, but it would've been nice.

I travel a lot for work and had to carry my back pack with a macbook pro and a Windows Surface. On my shoulder I would carry my fully loaded camera bag with a D610, plus the nikon trinity of lenses. It was heavy and a pain. Now with this bag I can carry a D810 + D610, The lenses and a speed light. In the front I carry my macbook pro 15 retina, and the surface. The surface does not fit in the iPad slot but its ok. Its heavy now because I have it fully loaded, but I carry one bag instead of two when I travel.

Yes, I'm sure there are bags that can hold more, but for me, this is the best bag ever. Love that you can access from the 'inside' (the side at your back), as well as being able to swing it around the lay flat because of the waist belt. I put a mini padlock on the back side, so no one can access it without me knowing. Highly recommend it
