Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this mount with a Audio-Technica 8022 with a Rode dead cat wind screen ofer the mic?

A: Yes, the Rycote Invision Hot Shoe mount is compatible for use with the AT8022 microphone and deadcat windscreen.

Q: 2. Would this work for replacing the stock RDE VideoMic Pro shock mount?

A: This shock mount is designed for a true shotgun mic and would not fit the RODE VideoMic Pro model.

Q: 3. Does this work for the original rode video mic? Not the pro version, but the original?

A: The Rycote shock mount you want for the original VideoMic model is the Rycote Universal Shotgun Mount for Cameras and Boom Poles (B&H # RYUSGM) which fits mics that have a 19 to 35mm diameter. The InVision model is for mics with a 19 to 25mm diameter and may not open wide enough for the original VideoMic model. I would also suggest contacting Rode directly. They did have an upgraded replacement mount available. You can reach Rode by phone at 562-364-7400. Their US office is based in California.

Q: 4. Will this shock mount connect to the OC white proboom elite without an adapter?

A: Yes it will

Q: 5. Can you hang a U87 upside down using this shockmount?

A: The Diameter of the Neumann U87 is too large to fit this shock mount. A model that would work is the Auray SSM-NMN Suspension Shockmount for Neumann Microphones, B&H # AUSSMNMN.

Q: 6. Is there a 1/4-20 thread underneath the cold shoe?

A: No, it does not. You would need to use an adapter: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1369426-REG/camvate_c0993_2_x_1_4_hot.html

Q: 7. Pertaining to the question regarding whether or not this mount will work with the videomic pro, for those who do use it, is this the best way to go?

A: I use it with a Sennheiser ME 64 with the K6 powering module, AA battery and aRycote Standard Hole Softie Windscreen. I think the my set up weights about the same as the Rode videomic pro. It works great for me! The RycoteLyre Shockmount is the best I've used with a DSLR. I work professionally and highly recommend Rycote shock mounts

Q: 8. would this also work with a boom pole?

A: This shock mount is designed specifically to be inserted into a hot shoe of a camera. I would recommend the Rycote Universal Shotgun Mount for Cameras and Boom Poles, B&H # RYUSGM. This model, which features a Duo-Lyre Cradle, is designed for use with a boom pole or to be mounted on a camera.

Q: 9. Will this work with an AKG 414 XLS? That mic has more of a tappered square shape.

A: Yes, the Rycote InVision Studio Kit with USM can be used with the AKG C414 XLS Large-Diaphragm Multipattern Condenser Microphone.

Q: 10. Does this have the same locking mechanism of "Rycote Universal Mount for Cameras" which some users said it is bad?

A: Yes, the locking mechanism on the Rycote InVision On-Camera Shockmount for Microphones & Cameras is the same as the one on the Rycote Universal Shotgun Mount for Cameras.

This thing is well built works perfectly no noise and the bonus is the pop filter it really works great. I believe this pop filter is better than the original one that came with the U87.

Great shockmount! No worn out elastic bands to contend with, and finding an original schockmount for a CAD Equitek E200 is ridiculously hard. This shockmount is far better than the original and fits like a glove!

It precisely meets my need to secure an inverted AEA R8 ribbon microphone as AEA's provided microphone holder is hardly secure. Very good product. The pop filter is washable and they provide a second screen, too.

I'd just like to thank Lyle Rath's video on the Sounds Goodish channel for recommending this product. This was honestly such a great buy. My mic is super secure, the pop filter EATS PLOSIVES, it's just great!

I have been looking for a shock mount to fit my vintage CAD E-300. This fit great and a lot cheaper than the hard to find OEM.

I purchased this for my CAD because the shockmount is very difficult to use and it's quite easy to strip the threads. It works fine but I wasn't able to use all four of the mounting screws because of the strange shape of the CAD. Very happy with it. Lowered the noise floor significantly.

What can I say? It's a pop filter that does its job and does it WELL. I mean REALLY well.

The universal shock mount is the highest quality shock mount I've ever used. Not just at a universal shock mount standard. But for ANY shock mount.

HIGHLY recommend this product.

My AKG C414 feels really secure. Also, before the shock mount, I bumped my mic arm against something metal, and got bzzzzzzzz. After the shock mount, I bumped it against the metal object, and no buzz.

Minor con: the mic leans slightly backwards if you have the mic right-side-up. However, if you have the mic upside-down, it goes straight down. Because of how secure it feels, this is a minor con

Using with TLM 103. Great solution for shock absorption and pop reduction. Pop filter stays put. Looks cool too.
