A sleek wide-angle prime designed for Canon EF-mount DSLRs, the YN 35mm f/2 Lens from Yongnuo pairs the popular 35mm focal length with a bright f/2 maximum aperture to suit working in a variety of situations. Multi-coated glass elements reduce the effects of lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and maintained color accuracy. An AF/MF switch on the lens barrel permits quick switching between focusing methods, and the lens can focus as closely as 9.8" to suit photographing close-up subjects. While compact and lightweight in design, a metal bayonet lens mount ensures a secure, durable connection between the camera and lens and gold-plated contacts permit working with all exposure modes as well as transferring lens information to the EXIF data. A tried-and-true lens construction with design enhancements to benefit handling, this lens is an ideal walk-around lens for everyday shooting.

Prime wide-angle lens designed for full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs, this lens can also be used with APS-C-format DSLRs where it will provide a 56mm equivalent focal length.

The bright f/2 maximum aperture benefits working in a variety of lighting conditions and also aids focus control for shallow depth of field imagery.

Multi-coated glass elements increase contrast and maintain color accuracy by reducing flare and ghosting.

An AF/MF switch on the lens barrel allows you to select focusing methods, with either setting allowing you to focus as closely as 9.8" away.

Seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a smooth out-of-focus quality when working with selective focus techniques.

Compact, lightweight design incorporates a metal bayonet lens mount for added durability.

Gold-plated electronic contacts convey EXIF data between camera and lens and also permit working M, Av, Tv, and P shooting modes.

Q: 2. Will this fit a Canon 700D?

A: Yes, it will fit all Canon dslr's

Q: 3. is this lenses compatible with a canon EOS 7D?

A: Yes it is!

Q: 4. Does this lens work with a canon EOS 630?

A: Yes this lens can fit a Canon EOS 630.

Q: 5. I recently purchased this lens and it looks great in well lit areas and subjects, but in low light conditions (ISO 5000+), it's not focusing. Is this normal? Or do I need to look at exchanging mine?

A: It's not the lens, it's the cameras auto-focus mechanism not getting enough light to focus. The light coming in from the lens hits a translucent mirror, most of the light goes up to your viewfinder, some gets to the auto-focus sensor so in low-light conditions it can be very difficult for a camera to focus properly. Also, this isn't the sharpest lens so that wouldn't help the focus much either. I know you probably got an f/2 lens hoping to get more low light shots, but you just can't go too low-light. Happy shooting!

Q: 6. does this work on an SL1?

A: Great Lens. Quality images. Great price

Q: 7. Will this autofocus while filming video on a 6D Mark II?

A: You are able to use the auto focus with the camera on the Canon 6D.

Q: 8. Can this be used on dx format.

A: Yes. The Yongnuo YN 35mm f/2 Lens for Nikon F, B&H # YOYN352N, would be fully compatible for use on both Nikon FX full-frame cameras as well as Nikon DX APS-C sensor cameras. As indicated under the Overview on our website, the above lens can also be used with DX-format DSLRs where it will provide a 52.5mm equivalent focal length.

Q: 9. Will the autofocus and image stabilization work with an adapted canon m50?

A: The Yongnuo YN 35mm f/2 Lens for Canon EF will Autofocus on that camera when using the proper adapter. The Canon EF-M Lens Adapter Kit for Canon EF / EF-S Lenses linked here will be a good adapter for this. https://bhpho.to/2PtpkBU. This lens is not a stabilized lens and so will not have image stabilization when used with or without an adapter.

Q: 10. If i have a 50mm canon lens, would this work the same as my 50mm ?

A: It will work. But it's a 35mm not a 50! I love this lens!

I just upgraded from a couple kit lenses (Canon 18mm-150mm f3.5 was the main one I used, on a Canon 60D), and this was a HUGE upgrade. I film video in mostly low light scenarios. The bokeh on this lens is great, not distracting for casual use. An f-stop of 2.0 is great for the light- sensitivity I need. Price-point for an upgrade is perfect. I'm not a professional, just practicing, and use this mostly for DSLR video to record live music for work, but this lens is great for what I need. 5-stars for beginner use.

All I know is at f/5.6 and f/8 it's great. An the 35mm focal length is just about perfect for me. It's been money well spent.

I am a night club photographer using a Canon 70D and 6D. I just used this lens last night for the first time and I was very impressed to say the least. I often have to alternate between two cameras because I don't have a versatile lens for my full frame, but I do now. This lens surpassed what I thought it would do. Takes great photos in low light, auto focus was not an issue. Images came out crisp and clean. I recommend this to anyone. Its not even $100 so you have no real risk. GET THIS LENS! It worked great for me in a tough environment.

I simply heard good things about it and bought one to see for my self. I was very pleased with the results. It is a must have for photographers.

Hard to believe it's not more expensive.

It's light and plasticky (but not flimsy), "only" f2, and the autofocus is noisier and slower than a nikkor lens. If that bothers you, by all means spend the extra $$$ on a mainline brand.

But if you are a casual shooter wanting to try out a 35mm FX prime, this is definitely the lens you want to put on your camera. IQ will be great as long as you aren't pixel peeking or cropping like crazy.

FYI 1 : This version (2.0) of the lens DOES have a 58mm diameter (btw, the pdf user's manual on the webpage as of this date, May 4, 2022, is for the older 1.0 version, and so incorrectly indicates a 52mm diameter).

FYI 2 : this lens does NOT come with a hood, so you might want to order one at the same time as the lens.
On the plus side, it does not have the plastic film over the lens that some of the online reviews complained about.

Everyone who is complaining about the lens not focusing or taking blurry pictures, REMOVE THE PLASTIC FILM on both ends of the lens....now then, I Love This lens! The 35mm focal length is perfect. Great price, takes great pictures. The f2 aperture is great. Very Nice bokeh. Is it the best lens ever? Obviously not. It's not weatherproof, it's not metal, But if the most important thing to you is picture quality then this is a perfect lens for you at a great price.
