This is a very good leveling device with no protruding controls to get in your way. A knurled locking ring of slightly larger diameter than the device turns the friction lock easily and smoothly to firmly lock or unlock with a travel distance of around an inch. When unlocked there is still enough friction to keep it from flopping around loosely. It's easy to operate with either hand from almost any position, with heavy mittens as well as with your bare hands, and is a compact device that does a superior job.

Super compact and lightweight. The glass is as good as any high cost glass I've ever looked through. No artifacts. Depth and color is perfect. I wear glasses and these binoculars cause no issues for me at all. My friend w/o glasses was also surprised at how clean and clear the view is through these. I'm thrilled with the performance of these binos.

I bought this item hoping it would make a good swap for the pan head on my tripod. This would allow me to connect my Vortex RIDGEVIEW tripod to a Wimberley Head - Version II gimbal. Along with the Oben 3/8-16 to 1/4-20 Reducer Bushing, it worked like a charm. I can easily get a level base for my long lens, then switch back to the pan head, when I go out with my spotting scope.

I really struggled with the choice for a small pair of waterproof hiking/kayaking binocs...so many choices. I decided on a reverse porro and liked the look of the Vortex. I had these in my hands about fifteen minutes and fell in love with them. So comfortable to hold and look through, and the view is awesome.
