The LEE Bug 0.9 ND Standard Filter is designed for use with the Bug 3 or Bug 3+ Filter Holder for GoPro cameras. It reduces exposure levels while shooting in bright environments by 3 stops, helping to prevent the sky from blowing out and also allowing you to use lower shutter speeds to retain a more natural motion blur. In addition, a slower shutter speed can help reduce the apparent effects of vibration when mounting a GoPro to a vehicle or quadcopter.

Q: 1. Does anyone have a comparison on the Super Stopper compared to Lee's ProGlass 15 stop filter? Almost twice the price, is it worth it?

A: The LEE Filters 100 x 100mm ProGlass IRND 4.5 Filter (15-Stop) B&H # LEPGIRN15100 is more expensive because it combines two filters in one. Not only the ND but it also has an IR filter as well. Because digital sensor are susceptible to the infrared that get through the ND, this helps to keep your blacks from going to a very-hard-to-correct magenta color shift.

Q: 2. I currently have a sony A7r with a Sony FE 24-240mm f/3.5-6.3 OSS Lens. Is this filter compatible with the lens I am using? Are there any kits or adapters I need as well? Thanks!

A: Hi Christian, Yes, it will work, you'll just need a 72mm adapter for whatever filter holder you're using. My recommendation is a Lee Filter holder and a 72mm lens filter adapter. If you have a lens that takes a larger filter size, say a 77mm, then I'd get a 77mm adapter and a 77mm to 72mm step down ring. That way you don't have too many adapters. Hope this helps.mick

Q: 3. will this fit a Nikon nikkor 35km 1.8 and if so what accessories do I need to purchase with this filter?

A: yes with the Lee 100mm filter holder kit, go to 'Lee 100mm filter' on the internet and the site will show you everything you will need. I think B&H carries them.Regards...

Q: 4. I want a Lee Big Stopper for my Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Ultra Wide Angle Zoom Lens. Which one do I need for that lens? What adapter and other equipment do I need? I also want the 3 stop and 6 stop Lee filters for this lens. Will I use the same adapter as for the Big Stopper? If not, what equipment do I need for them to use on the same lens?

A: You will need the LEE Filters Adapter Ring - 82mm - for Wide Angle Lenses. This will then attach to the LEE filter holder (which holds any 4x4 filter or 4x6 filter, such as the big stopper). The name of this kit is: LEE Filters Foundation Kit (Standard 4x4 , 4x6 Filter Holder). So, you attach the adapter ring directly to the lens (make sure not to have any UV or other circular filters attached or it will vignette), and then the filter kit attaches to that. You then slide in any LEE or other 4x4 filter you want.

Q: 5. Hi, there is a little soft thing around the edges of the filter to seal the light. But there is still big gap I can see, so how it suppose to seal the light then? appreciated any comment. Thanks.

A: There are two slots that the filter can go in. Be sure to put the Lee Stopper in the slot that is the closer to the camera with the soft part towards the camera as well. Those two things should keep light from filtering in. Also, make sure that you cover the eyepiece either with tape or the cover provided by the camera mfg.

Q: 6. Does this filter have a gasket on it's backside to help with light leakage?

A: Yes it does

Q: 7. Can I use this filter for the eclipse? If so, does it need an adapter?

A: Technically, yes, you could use it, but the sun will may likely still be overexposed. To get a properly exposed sun, you need a special solar eclipse filter that is far darker. Even with the solar eclipse filter, never use the optical view finder to frame the shot and always wear specialized solar eclipse glasses.

Q: 8. Is this a screw- on ND filter?

A: Yes, the Lee 72mm Elements Variable ND filter is a screw-on filter.

Q: 9. What is the normal F stop that is recommended for shooting with these filters? I just got the Big Stopper and the Super Stopper. Shooting with film.

A: Sweet spot on most lenses is between f11 and f16

Q: 10. will the lee filter fit the COKIN xpro holder?

A: Sorry, I wouldn't know. I use Lee Holder
