$674.97 $809.96

This XPRO Magnesium Ball Head from Manfrotto features an integrated Arca-type clamp and a MSQ6PL Quick Release Plate. Arca-type compatible quick release plates such as the MSQ6PL can be attached or removed from the Arca-type clamp located at the top of the ball-and-socket joint by tightening or loosening the clamp's locking knob. Within the recessed surface between the clamp's jaws is a retaining pin. This pin prevents an installed quick release plate from accidentally sliding off when the clamp is opened.

The XPRO Magnesium Ball Head with MSQ6PL Quick Release Plate has a load capacity of 33.1 lb and can be attached to tripods or other support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount. By loosening this XPRO Magnesium Ball Head's primary locking knob, its ball-and-socket joint can be quickly swiveled, angled, fully tilted, or returned to its upright position. Toward the ball head's base is a secondary locking knob that controls the ability to rotate the head 360°. An additional knob opposite the secondary locking knob can be rotated to apply tension control to the ball-and-socket joint's movements.

Cameras or accessories that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the MSQ6PL Quick Release Plate which measures 2.8 x 2.2 x 0.4".

Related Questions and Answers

A: The height with the head oriented vertically is 3 3/4".

Q: 2. Will the Peak Design Capture Clip V3 work with this head unit?

A: Wow you got me there, i just use it with a 3 legged thing L-bracket.

Q: 3. Is this ball head good for portrait work?

A: Yes, the Manfrotto MHXPRO-BHQ6 XPRO Ball Head with Top Lock Quick-Release System would be compatible for use and would be an excellent ballhead option for portraiture work.

Q: 4. will Kirk l-bracket for nikon d750 fit?

A: The Manfrotto XPRO Magnesium Ball Head with MSQ6PL Quick Release Plate has an integrated Arca-type clamp. So the Kirk L-Bracket for Nikon D750 is compatible.

Q: 5. Is it made in Italy being an Italian brand?

A: According to the information we have, our current inventory's Country of Origin is Italy. Please be aware this can change over the product's production life without notice.

Q: 6. Has anyone had any trouble with the quick release plate not having rubber on it? I noticed the 200PL has rubber to prevent slipping. Does the camera shift at all while attached to the plate?

A: I have had difficulty with slippage between camera/lenses and the plate. I don't like the design of these plates.

Q: 7. Does this head come with a quick release plate?

A: Yes

Q: 8. I have an old Bogen made by Manfrotto 3011 tripod. It has an old 3029 head. Will this this head work on the tripod?

A: My other tripod is a 3021 and I have had several Bogen heads on it, including this one. I would bet any tripod with a flat plate with approx 2 diameter and 3/8 stud will fit this head. I really like this ball head. And dis spite some reports the head works with RRS accessories.

Q: 9. will this fit on my older manfrotto tripod 3021pro?

A: Probably yes. you must know the diameter of the mounting screw and the number of threads per inch of both devices to get a correct answer or bring your tripod to the store.

Q: 10. Will this QR fit a the video style like the 501PL?

A: I don't think the 501PL will mount on top of any type of head because the top of the head is made to mount directly to a camera already and the threads are different between what the tripod attaches to the head and the mount to the camera. So I am not sure unless there is a thread difference between your video camera and for most cameras, because I notice that the 501pl has 2 different thread sizes on it, why you are wanting to mount the 501pl on top of this head. Because this head already has a quick release, so you won't need the 501pl.

Finally replaced my old Manfrotto tripod head with the arca type head. Love my Manfrotto tripod but wanted something a bit easier to attach/remove as well as to utilize a nodal slide. This works just fine.

Great ball head. With just a small counterclockwise turn you can adjust the camera smoothly. A small turn back and it is securely help in place. Excellent piece of equipment!

Have this head and plate attached to Manfrotto 131TC table mount geared column that is permanently affixed to drywall so I can do astronomical viewing with a 14.5 pound pair of astronomy binoculars. This head firmly holds the binoculars in position even when aimed steeply upwards which causes a significant imbalance. I have this same head/plate combo on my Manfrotto carbon tripod for use with my Sony RX10MIV. These items perform wonderfully for both purposes. Strong, precise, easily adjusted.

This manfrotto ball is great and easy to use. More important is light to travel with paired with my Manfrotto tripod.
I use to buy other brands but, now I have a new favorite.

I have struggled for some time with my previous bullhead (pistol grip type). Adjustments were always very difficult and time-consuming to make and I constantly needed very excessive effort to position my camera. In the interest of time, I often settled for a close approximation of what I wanted for Camera position. The MHXPRO-BHQ2 XPRO Ball Head with 200PL Quick-Release System is extremely precise, easy to use and requires little effort to position. The locks are well positioned and very easy to use - no confusion, here. I particular, I like the panning feature ... I can lock camera in position, release the panning position lock and rotate the camera about the tripod while it remains in the other locked position.

I bought this head because the one I had been using had constant issues with stability and camera slippage when shooting in portrait. After a little under a month of use, I can say with 100% confidence that this thing is a rock solid beast. It is extremely stable (even with my heaviest lens mounted on my camera while in portrait), very smooth, and highly intuitive. The price point is obviously high -- but you get a phenomenal bang for your buck.
