Q: 1. I'm looking at using these for a church system. what do you recommend the placement to be between each speaker on a 9'-12' cathedral ceiling? Do you connect to both 2,3 and 1,4 to daisy chain the speakers or just 1,4 for the loop thru to the next speaker? And finally, can you use a standard 1/4 mono plug to speaker wire to connect the speakers?

A: Unfortunately for such a large job, we would not be able to make accurate recommendations or product suggestions off site. We would highly recommend bringing in a project professional who could inspect your location and make the appropriate recommendations per your design criteria. While we cannot make a specific recommendation, one of our manufacturers does offer this type of service. TOA Electronics is a premier manufacturer of audio and security products and does offer onsite design and installation. B&H would be more than happy to bid out the products required for your project. Please contact Johnathan Allen at 845-729-3482 / jonathan_allen@a href= http://toaelectronics.com. target= _blank toaelectronics.com./a He is an install professional that will be able to handle this type of large project for you.

Q: 2. I paired these speakers with a Pyle amp (Model PTA4) and they sound bad. Is there an amp that will sound good with an AUX input?

A: The JBL Control 26CT - Ceiling Speaker with Transformer (Pair) pairs nicely with the JBL CSA series such as B&H # JBCSA280Z.

Q: 3. Any amplifier recommendations for these narrow pendant speakers?

A: The JBL CSA 280Z Audio Amplifier (2 x 80W) B&H # JBCSA280Z would be a great choice, if you were using two of the JBL 67HC/T Narrow Coverage Pendant speakers at 8 ohms. If you are planning on installing several of the speakers, you can use the 70 volt transformers and tap them up to 60 watts each. In this case, the amp you require would be based on the total wattage needed when you add up the wattage of each speaker in your 70 volt system.

Q: 4. Are these IC-rated? Can this be installed in a drywall ceiling in contact with ceiling insulation?

A: Yes. These are in-ceiling rated for drywall. They may contact insulation as they are an integrated back-box design.

Q: 5. What is/are the difference/s between this subwoofer and this model JBL CONTROL 19CST?Can I connect this subwoofer to regular AV receiver or need another solution to make it works since it's PASSIVE subwoofer?

A: The JBL CONTROL 19CST features a 70-v transformer, appropriate for installation with commercial sound equipment. JBL CONTROL 19CS lacks this transformer, but may be connected to an AV receiver provided the receiver has sufficient output power.

Q: 6. What is a good head unit to pair with a group of 6 speakers?

A: The Control 26CT has a built in transformer allowing in it to be used in a distributed audio system. These speakers are able to be tapped at multiple wattages. When connected to a 70v audio system, the amplifier must be rated to handle the sum of all speakers connected with an additional 20% for headroom.

Q: 7. Recomended 8Ω JBL or CROWN amplifier for 2 per channel 18C/T?

A: The JBL CSA 2120Z Audio Amplifier - 2 x 120W (B&H # JBCSA2120Z) that James recommended is a good option since it can be used as a 70V or standard amp and its power rating makes it a good match for use with two of the JBL 18C/T speakers on each channel. Crown's XTi 1002 (B&H # CRXTI1002) is a standard stereo amp rated at 275W per channel at 8 Ohms which could also work for you. As another option, the QSC ISA300Ti Commercial Power Amplifier (B&H # QSISA300TI) is a standard amp rated at 180W per channel at 8 Ohms and also operates at 70V for a constant voltage setup.

Q: 8. Does it come with a power supply? If so, how long is the cord?

A: A 19 VDC / 3.42 A power supply is included. The power cord is about 8 feet long.

Q: 9. is it 16 Ohms per pair or per one ?

A: It is 16 ohms per speaker.

Q: 10. Can they've used as a normal 16 ohm speaker not 70v or 100v?

A: Sort of, you will get sound but it will not operate very well at increased volumes. Ultimately I would not recommend doing it. I think it would eventually damage the voice coil.

I had installers scheduled with no speakers on site (in-hand). I ordered from B&H and received product faster then I could have imagined, in fact delivered quicker then promised. Product installed quick and easy both in the drop ceiling as well as in the drywall locations. The JBL's look great and sound even better. B&H had the best prices but that was not as important to me as the availability and shipping.

I used these speakers with JBL 19cs subwoofers for a weight room facility sound system. The total system consisted of 6 - 26c speakers and 4 - 19cs subwoofers. Wiring is made easy with the removable terminal blocks and passthrough wiring. Basically each speaker connects to each other in a line. This installation method reduces cost for speaker wire and labor involved with running extra wire. The terminal blocks have 4 wire holes. For the first speaker in the line will use holes 2 & 3 for the line connecting to the amplifier. Then a wire is ran from speaker 1 to speaker 2. Holes 1 & 4 from speaker 1 connects to holes 2 & 3 on speaker 2. This continues for the entire line. Be sure to properly power these speakers. Both the 19cs and 26c need 140 watts of power. In our installation we used 2 amplifiers splitting the system into left and right sides of the room. Since each amp had 2 outputs of 500 watts for each channel. This provided some headroom for the speakers. On both amps output 1 was was the high and output 2 was the low. Output 1 had 3 26c speakers and output 2 had 2 19cs subwoofers. These amplifiers had a built in crossover feature that splits the signal into high and low frequences which is essential for installing a system like this. A xlr splitter was used to convert the output from the mixer (1 xlr) to inputs for both amps (2 xlr). A cutout template is provided for cutting ceiling tiles. Once tiles are put back in the ceiling the installation can be done without access into the ceiling. The speaker is designed to push up through the cutout in the ceiling tile and clamps down to the C bracket (included). Make sure to have someone assist with installing, these can be insalled with one person but can be difficult for one person to lift, attach wires, put into place, and screw down holders. Overall these speakers work as expected and would buy again. They install nicely and end product looks professional. Nothing less to be expected from JBL.

Great small format in-ceiling speakers. The sealed and ported enclosure protects them and provides a consistent bass response, unlike open back speakers. 70volt or 8ohm operation for a wide variety of commercial and residential applications. and... they sound good!

Installed 4 pairs of this in an auditorium of 60ftx40ft. Easy to install, sound quality is great. The wattage tap settings on the front make it easily accessible and simplify refining volume levels of the system especially when mounted on ceiling Also, the System Design Software on jblpro website helped a lot in validating speaker placement.

I use these speakers in meeting rooms of various sizes and for several purposes such as lectures, symposia, music playback, and movies. They are installed in drop ceilings, which, of course, has its drawbacks, but the response and delivery of these speakers is outstanding. I wouldn't think of going with another choice except to upgrade to the 47c/t in rooms that can handle more bass. response.
