A: It will hold the 400mm,2.8 with no problem.The cover tapers at the top to protect the lens so there is no room for the camera body.I have just the camera is a separate small case and can reassemble quite easily.Because the lens in traveling in the upper hold of a plane with other bags,camera body is not a good option.Best. A: In order to fit into the cradle, the width of the tablet must be between 7.25 and 8.75.

A: the v bridge gives extra cushioning for a camera with lens mounted sitting in the bottom of the bag.

A: Yes, the Nikon CL-L2 Soft Case for 400mm, 500mm and 600mm will fit the Nikon 180-600mm lens. It is a few inches wider than the lens though.

I love my Nikon hard case for the 500mm F4E. I purchased the Nikon CL-L2 soft case to make things a little more flexible and it works. When I need to just go, the lens is much easier to grab. When I'm not sure what I'll be capturing, I can carry the lens with me and mono pod allowing me to bring an extra lens for a different window on life. I feel safe with the lens in the case and my 500mm fits perfectly, shade and all. The construction is fabulous. 5

I wanted this bag to carry my Nikon 600mm by plane. After vainly trying to get it in France and England, I ordered it from B & H. Three days later, it was delivered to me at the same price, including transport and customs duties... 5

This could be the best soft case for long-range lens (up to 600mm.) Built with quality typical for Nikon. This may not be suitable for long distance hiking since it has only a shoulder strap and hand-carrying handle at the top. Other better option from other brand is available, but the size is too big, and over the limit for you to carry it on broad a flight, unless you have to check it as a baggage, which most of you may not want for your delicate lens. Nikon CL-L2 has a suitable size to allow you bring it on broad. To balance all, this one is still the best for Nikon 600mm. Note that for 600mm lens with hoods (reversely mounted in the front) you will need to remove all the provided thick cushion to fit it in (it should provide minimal protect for your lens.) Overall, good product. 5
