Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the catlabs 8x10 reel work in this tank?

A: No, the CatLABS CL81: an 8X10 Sheet Film Processing Reel is made specific for the Jobo MultiTank 5. Not the Paterson Super System 4 Multi-Reel 8 Developing Tank. This is the link to the Jobo 2550 Multi Tank 5 (640mL), https://bhpho.to/3plCZu0 .

Q: 2. What accessories do I need to plug a European purchased unit with a European plug into the unit, and does your unit plug directly into a standard 120 volt USA outlet ?

A: The Sevenstar ST-1000 Step Up/Step Down Transformer (1,000W) would plug directly into a standard 120 volt USA outlet.

Q: 3. How many Millimeters should be used when developing 8x10" sheet film?

A: The Paterson Super System 4 Multi-Reel 5 Developing Tank can hold up to five 35mm rolls or three 120/220 rolls. The tank cannot be used for 8x10 or any sheet film.

Q: 4. Can I use this tank to process 8x10" color prints using RA-4 chemicals?

A: Unfortunately no but you can use this Jobo instead: https://bhpho.to/3d6s1p9

Q: 5. is this light tight without the rubberized cover? i.e. just the funnel thing in place.

A: Yes, it's light tight as long as you have the funnel set in correctly and twisted until it snaps in place.

Q: 6. How tall is this tank? I am looking for something to process 5x12" sheet film.

A: This is less the 11" tall

Q: 7. Does this work with the Serv 4K? It's not listed but I assume it does.

A: The Node II LTE/4G/3G Multi-Mode Modem Module from Teradek is designed specifically to interface with the Teradek VidiU Go. The Teradek SERV 4K is not listed.

Q: 8. what's difference between this and Paterson 4 x 5 Sheet Film Developing Tank with Reel?

A: Thus reply may not be helpful, but I will try -- Paterson tanks have interchangable parts. Between the parts you will need to buy and those you may already have, for 4x5 you will need a tall tank, a long center tube, and a 4x5 holder. The holder looks vaguely like a dragon and holds up to 6 sheets. I have loaded mine with up to 4 sheets in a changing bag. The tank holds twice the developer of a short tank (which is for one 120 roll of film.) If you have two 120 spools, you can develop two 120 rolls. instead of the 4x5 sheets.Other parts: a funnel to make the tank light tight, a tank top to keep the fluids in place, and a twist part to allow agitation. These are the same for small or large tanks and come with the tank.l

Q: 9. Does the item contain center column, funnel and agitator?

A: Yes. It contains all of these. It just doesn't include the spools.

Q: 10. how long does it take to fill up the entire tank with chemistry? i believe 5rolls of 135 would require 1500ml of it. do you need to compensate for time to avoid over develop negatives in the bottom?

A: It's only a matter of 10-15 seconds. I compensate about 5 seconds and have never had issues! I've never directly measured how much chemistry, but use a 2L kit and life is easy. I would guess its more around 1600ml!!

Awesome product, however this is for the tank only. The Film Holding Reels are sold separately (pt119 or pt120). Other than that keeps the film nice and dark and allows you to fill, agitate, and drain without being in pitch black.

These are great tanks, and I have a few. Paterson tanks are the one to buy.

This tank I use to develop two 120 format films together, sometime I dilute chemical with more ratio , it needs more time for developing , it saves time. And the design is easy to upload film and hold when shaking.

Having been limited to using stainless steel for so many years, this wonderful contraption has been a blessing to use. Easy. Fast loading. Quick to clean. A real pleasure to work with. Will continue to buy and spread the word.

Very sturdy and reliable during processing. I wouldn't buy any other brand.

Good quality, no leaks, love being able to develop 2 rolls of 120 at a time, the only downside is I wish it came with reels.

I do some compensated development and stand development and this (larger) tank is just the ticket for that, allowing enough developer in the tank to do the film completely.
