This is the perfect LCD screen for a Leica CL ( or Q or even M240 or many other cameras for that matter),� it does its job well, it is very convenient and useful, and when combined with a Vello flip-up LCD shade is even more useful. It comes with a very unobtrusive black metal magnetic frame that you attach to your camera by peeling the back off of some sticky tape. The Elvid then sticks to the metal frame nicely.�� It makes the LCD screen on your camera very easy to see and to use even in the brightest sunshine.� When you don't need it, you can just pull off the Elvid shade.�� Then if you like you can use the Vello shade in its place. Or just put the Elvid in your pocket. This was a very good solution for me. My only complaint is that you can't focus the Elvid.� if they just managed to make it so you could rotate the eye cup and adjust the focus it would be even better.

I sorta thought this was gimicky till I got it. Shooting landsacapes or birds can be difficult to see the screen in sunlight, this is perfect around the neck with magnetic attachment when you need to chimp your shot for sharpness, light, composition etc.. Highlights areas that would otherwise require downloading to see on the screen. (and its too late to get another go at it) This will let you know for sure while still out in the field.

Simple design and lightweight. I shoot a lot of beach weddings each summer and this thing has come in quite handy. A nice addition to have when shooting outdoors at a fast pace to help dial in your settings. It's especially useful when using a fill flash to ensure proper exposure

Bought to use while shooting IR photos during the bright sun light. Helps with viewing my image in live view to check focus. Strong made and fits my Nikon D800.

I am very happy with this product. I use it to see the images on my camera's screen better in the full sun (Canon 5D). It is great to use when photographing sports teams. The hood blocks the bright sunlight, allowing me to see the screen well to check if the exposure is correct. The 300x magnifier is also great, I can see if there is glare on their glasses with that. I didn't install the magnetic frame to the camera, I just hold it in place when I need to use it. But it could be attached to the camera with self-stick metal frame and the magnets on the hood. That would be best for doing videos. Comes with a lanyard to keep it around my neck, ready when needed.

It works great in bright sunlight. I'm able to get a good view of my composition.

I use this little guy on all of my video cameras to get the focus spot on. Much easier than setting up a monitor or attaching a monitor to the camera. I can use the camera's small display and the OptiView to get the focus correct.
