I bought this magnifier for checking my two Canon cameras. It fits well in the lens opening and has good light for inspecting the sensor.

I have used this for years on my DSLRs. It is very good for finding the dust. Just be sure to give a good look; they can be easy to miss.
When I got a mirrorless camera, it did not have the ability to focus that close. My solution is to use the DSLR lens adapter. Then the magnifier is again a correct working distance and works perfectly.

This magnifier is SO helpful to check the sensor after you use a swab to clean . The built in light is awesome . You can literally see specks on your sensor with the magnifier . Really helps to see how clean the sensor is & allows you to decide if you need to try again to clean it better. I was able to see streaks from my cleaning.That helped me understand I needed do another pass with a swab to really get it clean

Great little hub. Light weight. The best feature is that you can plug your Dtap in any direction needed. Perfect feature. One slight negative, very minimal as the probably only pertains to my rig set up, is i wish the one USB port was on the end and not inline with the Dtaps.

Honestly, I don't know I cleaned my camera lenses before this. I purchased this for cleaning my new Sony alpha's sensor, but grabbed it on a whim after cleaning one of my lenses, and wow. Look at all the dust and streaks left behind. When cleaning my lenses, I have to free-hand it, obviously, you don't want to set this down on your lens, but there is nothing better for inspecting your lenses to remove that last spec of dust before your next shoot. I wouldn't dream of going to a professional wedding shoot without this in my bag now.

I love this loupe, the magnification is great and the ring LED lights illuminate the sensor wonderfully.

I had been inspecting my sensors with a small flashlight and a magnifying glass. I should have bought this tool years ago.

Very useful tool to have. Nice magnification. Led lights are bright. Nice little hard shell canvas zipper storage case.

I saw that many reviewers didn't like this for M43 cameras, but I have to say I haven't had any issues using it to inspect my G9 or BMPCC 4K. It's done wonders for my process when cleaning my sensors, and gives me the confidence to know I have done a through job. Highly recommended.

Yesterday on my R5 pictures, I thought I saw a UFO on one corner, and a Balloon on the other corner!


I thought to myself, this can't be... they can't be coming together to invade us all at once!


So I took lots of pictures at the skies above me, so I can have an idea when they will land on earth, or when they get shot by the US military to protect us...


Alas, these two things on my screen never moved, even when I shoot my wall... so I thought I was just being paranoid.


I went to my backyard and dug up my plastic barrel where this thing called Carson Sensor Magnifier was stored, it's been there for more than a decade, luckily the batteries did not leak, but the light was now very weak. A new pair of CR2032 batteries made this thing work !


Now I see two dust particles on my R5's sensor, it was difficult at first because I just held it on my hand while the camera was on a tripod. The technique is to move the magnifier towards the sensor, or move back up a little to see a clear picture of the sensor.


Now I see a clear picture, I did not see a balloon or a UFO !


Time to order some sensor fluid though as my Dust wand kit's sensor fluid has evaporated!

I recently purchased one of these magnifying loupe's to help clean my camera sensor. Works as designed, but I find it easier to hold onto it while wiping to sensor clean as it makes it easier being eluminated by the LED's on the underside to ensure that the sensor is very clean. The manufacturer suggests placing it in the lens mount, but its just more efficient to hand hold it while cleaning. You could probably also use it to view your transparency slides as well, but I havent tried that yet.
