The Carbon Top Handle Bars for Ronin-M from DJI attach to the center top handle of the DJI Ronin-M and support a pair of optional hand grips for two-handed operation of the 3-axis gimbal stabilizer. The bars serve as spares or replacements to the ones included with the Ronin-M.

Q: 1. Will it work with the thumb controller?

A: Currently no DJI thumb controller, wireless or otherwise, is compatible with the Ronin-S. The Ronin-S comes with a canbus-sbus cable that will allow you to use third party controllers and reeivers that use sbus.

Q: 2. I know the Ronin-S is intended to be used with DSLR or mirrorless cameras, but would it be possible to use it with a Sony FDR-AX700 camcorder?

A: While the Ronin-S is designed for use with Mirrorless and DSLR cameras you may be able to balance a small camcorder on it as well. However you may not have the same level of control over the range of motion when using the product. We tend not to recommend it.

Q: 3. Can I use DJI Ronin S for 5d mark 3 with canon EF 24-70 mm/f4 lens on? Suggest me, please!

A: Yes. Both that camera series and that lens are listed on DJI's website in the Ronin-S product compatibility list.

Q: 4. It the follow focus compatible with the Canon 5D mark 4?

A: Yes it is compatible when using the MCC-Mini cable (not included in the box).

Q: 5. I've pre ordered mine and I've seen some reviews where people say no Manfrotto plates work on the gimbal and others say they do whats the facts???

A: The Ronin-S is compatible with the E-Image EH6P Quick Release PlateB&H # EIEH6P. It will not work with Manfrotto 501 Plates.

Q: 6. Will the follow focus work with canon 16-35mm f/2.8 II and 5D mark III?

A: For follow focus control with the 5D Mark III you need the DJI Ronin-S Multi-Camera Control Cable, B&H # DJRONINP12CB. As far as the lens, DJI lists the Mark III version of the 16-35mm, not the Mark II. It is still possible though that the 16-35mm Mark II will work for follow focus and it is just not tested yet by DJI. https://bhpho.to/2Q0pDyM

Q: 7. Does it work with Nikon Z7?

A: Yes it does. You will be able to balance a camera like the Nikon Z7 on the Ronin-S. The Ronin-S also comes with the cable to connect the Z7 to it for Start/Stop Recording.

Q: 8. I just got mine and have it balanced well. however when I try to do a roll in flashlight mode the other arms move and block the gimbal from spinning. if I have it standing up, it rolls fine aiming the lens straight up. any ideas?

A: Also make sure your pan axis is balanced correct. I couldnt get flashlight mode to work and everything was correct but turns out my pan axis was a bit off balance and I thought it was good. With the motors off you should be able to tilt the gimbal 45 degrees left or right without it spinning on the pan axis (the lowest axis, the one that touches the grip is pan axis)

Q: 9. What is the diameter of this handle bar?

A: We were unable to get confirming information from DJI. We will go with the opinion that it is the same diameter as the rest of the Ronin-M and that is 25mm.

Q: 10. Does Follow focus work on Nikon D7100 and how does it work?

A: Currently no, but we are developing IR shutter control and will likely release it in an upcoming firmware update.
