Realize the full potential of your digital darkroom with this 25-sheet pack of 8.5 x 11" FineArt Baryta Satin Paper from Hahnemuehle. It has a 100% alpha cellulose base with a baryta (barium sulphate) coating that is reminiscent of traditional darkroom papers. This coating also works with the microporous ink-receiving layer for exceptional image sharpness with a wide color gamut and high Dmax. This makes the heavy 300 gsm paper well-suited for black & white imaging as well as color photography and fine art reproduction.

The paper itself benefits from the heft of a 14.6 mil thickness, an opacity of 98%, and a whiteness rated at 92%. This white coloration is achieved without the use of optical brightening agents for longevity. The paper is also acid free and calcium carbonate buffered for further longevity and is easy to handle thanks to its instant drying and very high water resistance. Additionally, it has a smooth satin-gloss surface finish.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How does the archival quality of Hahnemuhle Baryta FB compare to Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta?

A: Not sure how to answer that, but the non FB is a better paper for me. The FB has a slight magenta cast. The Fine Art Baryta is very very nice. I havd always used Canson or Ilford for Baryta until I tried these 2 papers. The Hahnamuhle Fina Art Baryta is slightly more expensive than the FB, but the surface is slightly textured and the color rendition is fantastic. I would be confident that both papers are as archival as the manufacturer can make them. Don't worry. Just make great prints.

Q: 2. Is this paper pre-scored and drilled?

A: No it is not. The paper is ideal for use in book and album creation thanks to its uniform grain direction.

Q: 3. Will this paper work with my Canon pro 10 printer and on my Epson 3800?

A: Yes, this Canson Infinity Baryta Prestige II Glossy Paper is compatible with the Canon pro 10 and Epson 3800 printers.

Q: 4. what printer do you recommend for this paper?

A: A high quality inkjet photo printer i.e. Epson P700/900 & above, Canon Pro 10/100/1000/300 & above.

Q: 5. This looks intriguing. Is it special purpose paper? One review mentions an adhesive. What are the prints meant to be attached to? Thanks.

A: It's the same as the full sized paper sheets or rolls. The only thing is due to the thickness of this paper & small size,, you might have to manual feed it in the larger printers (those that take up to 13x19 & above). Being so the manual feed won't recognize the 4x6 therefore you need to mount iton a larger paper. Please note this paper wont fit into the small all in one photo printers due to its thickness.

Q: 6. Would this be appropriate paper to use with the Canon PIXMA iP8720?

A: Most of the papers will not work. The printer cannot handle papers that weight more than 200 GSM.

Q: 7. Is curling and then flattening required when using this paper as rolls instead of cut sheets?

A: The Canson Infinity Baryta Prestige II Glossy Paper (17" x 50' Roll) does not have excessive curling after printing so flattening is usually not required.

Q: 8. What is the mil of this fine art paper?

A: It is about 19mil.

Q: 9. is this epson 3880 compatible?

A: You can use the Baryta FB 17 x 22 Paper with the Epson 3880 printer, yes. You can get the ICC profile from Hahnemuhles site.

Q: 10. I have a Canon Pro 10 and would naturally like to know how well this paper works with pigments?

A: You should have no problems with this paper on your Cannon Pro 10. It's now my preferred paper for enlarged prints for framing, using my Epson Stylus Pro 4800. Moab discontinued their Colorado Satine paper, and this paper proved to be the closes match with the Hahnemuhle being a little thicker @ 300 gsm. Being a Baryta paper, it still retains a very clean white base compared to other brands that I tested with 8.5X11 sheets. Compared to the Moab, side by side, it has just a very slight Baryta (warm tone) tint. Moab's Juniper Baryta Rag (305 gsm) is their new paper that replaced the Colorado, didn't cut it. It's to warm and has a sheen and texture that not normal for a Semi Gloss/Satine surface. Long story short, setup the paper profile, color calibrate your monitor, and test before printing larger sizes. You'll like this paper.
