BOSS kept the styling of the pedal familiar; with the classic magenta-hued chassis with a top panel sporting simple Repeat Rate, Echo, and Intensity controls. Like many classic delays, adjusting the knobs while playing can evoke funky pitch changes and intense self-oscillation for crazy controllable feedback.

With the Waza Craft initiative, BOSS brought back the classic DM-2 design and added a little something extra by way of a tiny S/C toggle switch. The "S" (Standard) mode is a reproduction of the vintage DM-2 circuit in all its analog glory. In this mode, the Repeat Rate knob can select delay times of 20-300 milliseconds. Switch over to the "C" (Custom) mode, and your signal goes through a more modern analog circuit offering longer delay times from 40-800 milliseconds and slightly higher fidelity repeats.

For complete control of your delay mix, separate outputs are available. The Output jack is the standard output, sending both the dry tone and the delay trails. While the relative loudness of the delay tones can be controlled with the Mix and Intensity knobs, using the Direct Out jack opens up more sonic opportunities. When you plug the DM-2W into a second amplifier, the pedal splits the dry and delay tones to be output separately creating a wide sound-stage not available to conventional single amplifier setups.

Near the instrument input jack is another input jack labeled RATE. Plug in a separately available expression pedal (like the Roland EV-5) and you can control the delay time dynamically without taking your hands off your guitar.

The DM-2W can run off of a single 9V battery or an optional external 9 VDC power supply. The electronics are encased in BOSS's iconic durable metal housing with a non-slip rubber base. The battery compartment can be easily accessed by unscrewing the thumbscrew at the front of the pedal. This pedal utilizes a buffered bypass for silent switching and driving long cable runs even while the pedal is disengaged.

These headphones have made practice fun for me. With a regular amp I'm always worried that others can hear how terrible I am, with these headphones I'm a rock god.

No wires to tangle you up ! Fantastic blending of backing track with your playing, very easy to dial in the balance so you can hear both clearly. Great amp sounds, but also great flat channel, so you can feed other amp simulator into it, or I use with my Variax to get nice acoustic sounds. Highly recommend. Note: must pair two different bluetooth connections...one for the audio from your phone or ipad, and another to control the amp settings in the headphones...that part was not intuitive or well documented, but once you have that done you're all set.
