$822.00 $1,117.92

Offering lower noise, higher sensitivity, and more adjustable settings than the VideoMic, the Rode VideoMic Pro camera-mount shotgun microphone is ideal for mobile journalists, vloggers, budget filmmakers, and run-and-gun shooters looking for a cost-effective way to step up to the next level in quality.

A single 9V battery provides up to 70 hours of run time and an LED turns red to indicate low-battery status. Adjustable gain and a selectable bass roll-off make it easy to optimize the level and tone of your recording for a range of scenarios.

This compact and lightweight shotgun microphone features an integrated shockmount that mounts directly to your camera or boompole and reduces noise from various vibrations. The windscreen design reduces wind noise, making it well suited for outdoor shoots. The attached 3.5mm TRS cable ensures easy hookup to your camera, and the dual-mono output means that no channel selection is necessary on your recording device.

Whereas most built-in camera microphones pick up sound from all directions, this microphone utilizes a supercardioid polar pattern to focus on sound in front of it while attenuating sound from the sides and rear. Its low-noise electronics and sensitive condenser element deliver more detailed audio than the mics typically found in cameras and portable recorders.

A straight 3.5mm cable is permanently attached to the mic for fast hookup to your camera. The cable's 3.5mm TRS plug is wired in a dual-mono configuration, ensuring that the mic signal is sent identically to both input channels of your camera or portable recorder.

Pop a 9V battery in the VideoMic Pro for up to 70 hours of operating time. The dedicated power LED changes from green to red when the battery should be replaced. The VideoMic Pro can still function for approximately 10 hours once the power indicator turns red, but performance will be compromised. Use the power switch to conserve battery life during periods of inactivity.

The high-pass filter can be set to flat or 80 Hz to roll off low-frequency noise from common sources such as air conditioners and traffic.

To enable optimal recording levels, the VideoMic Pro boasts a 3-stage gain control. Like the low roll-off and high-frequency boost, the gain control is digitally switched for precision and convenience. The +20 dB setting is ideal when recording to cameras, as it boosts the signal without requiring extreme gain on the camera's inferior preamp. Select the flat setting when routing the mic into a dedicated high-quality preamp, or switch to the -10 dB option when loud sound sources threaten to distort your recording.

Understanding that the rubber bands used in many shockmounts can snap and stretch, Rode chose to integrate a rugged Rycote Lyre suspension-style shockmount. This simplifies setup of the mic and inhibits the transfer of vibrations from the camera. Plus, the bottom of the shockmount features a camera shoe mount with a 3/8" thread, ensuring easy attachment to your camera or a boompole such as Rode's Micro Boompole (available separately).

The VideoMic Pro has a foam windscreen to reduce unwanted wind noise from breezes, fans, heaters, and air conditioners. For maximum reduction of wind noise in outdoor environments, consider a furry windshield such as the Rode DeadCat VMPR (available separately).

Expand the microphone's device compatibility with Rode accessories such as the SC4 and VXLR (both available separately). The SC4 is a short cable that lets you connect the VideoMic Pro directly to a smartphone or tablet equipped with a 3.5mm TRRS jack. The VXLR adapter is the ideal solution when you want to record the VideoMic Pro to a camcorder or mixer that has XLR inputs.

I purchased this microphone to enhance the quality of sound when using my Canon Rebel T2i camera. The wind screen works great, and the sound on the video is crystal clear. I recommend this mic for anyone who enjoys shooting HD with their SLR camera! Professional sound for very reasonable price.

This mic blew me away! I used it to shoot a wedding and even from afar, the sound quality was great during ceremonies and speeches. It really muted external noise and I couldn't be happier with this on camera mic!

I love this mic! From the rechargeable battery, to the different levels and gains, to even the safety mode, which allows one channel to be a lower DB than the other - which is what I always shoot in now to be safe! It allows me to raise the normal level, as I now have a safety for the other channel. Keep in mind that this is not stereo, it's still mono, but in premiere, you can choose which channel you want, so you can choose both outputs to L or R.

Had a beginner RODE shotgun mic. Is still working well and heard the sound quality was an upgrade. Never had an issue with the companies products and the cost from the beginner model to this isn't that bad.

I use this for videos on my YouTube channel (mcgolf) when the situation required it. It is now a partner to the wireless go system and sound coming from them both is very similar, clear, within the range I prefer and I don clip. well done RODE.

This mic was the perfect solution for professional on camera audio even in the wind. It can even be used as a shotgun mic on a boom pole if you're in a pinch.

Absolutely love this mic - been shooting cinema for 12 years. Best mic I have had so far for mono audio, primarily used for talking head videos, but also found wonderful use for long range audio with noisy background I want to reduce. I pack it on every filming trip, and the easy to swap muffs and swappable plug is great. No more mics ruined over the cable wearing out.
