Expanding on their line of panels, the Plus Series LED1000 Bi-Color LED Light Panel from Dracast adds a digital display for adjusting output as well as Cat 5 DMX input and output for linking and comes with both Gold mount and V-mount battery plates. The light features 1024 LEDs with a high CRI of 95 for excellent color accuracy. Also, this model features a variable color temperature from 3200-5600K for quickly matching either daylight or tungsten sources without needing to mess around with gels.

The lights offer a spot beam angle of 45°, as well as dimming from 0-100%. Benefiting operation, it can run from either a DC source, such as a Gold mount or V-mount battery, or a universal 100-240 VAC adapter. The light is durable as well, with an aluminum chassis, frame, and mounting yoke, and it only consumes 60W of power. Additionally, it is lightweight at just 5.5 lb and measures 12 x 12 x 2" in size.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the light output of this comparable to a traditional 1K Tungsten light?

A: No. The output would be more comparable to a traditional 450 Watt tungsten light. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 2. Hi, I would like to know if the free Dracast 90Wh 14.8V Lithium-Ion V-Mount Battery will b charged on the Dracast LED500 or need an extra battery charger not included?

A: You would need to purchase a battery charger for the Dracast battery included with this panel. A charger which can be used is the IndiPRO Tools D-Tap Pro Battery Charger B&H # INPD1013. Please see the image below for reference.

Q: 3. I have decided to buy this 1000 plus daylight fixture or the corresponding 1000 plus bi-color fixture. Traditional thought is to go with daylight because you lose half the LED's on the bi-color and bi-color is not necessary because you can use Gels and or adjust camera settings. However, since the 1000 plus is so powerful, I will essentially have a 500 daylight and a 500 LED tungsten which seems to plenty of brightness so I'm now considering bucking conventional wisdom and going with the bi-color. Just by reviews alone it appears as though the daylight is twice as popular. However, it's my understanding that the bi-color just recently came out which may skew the results. I'm an amateur videographer/photographer so need all the help I can get. Hence, for general all-around use would you go with the daylight or the bi-color? Thanks in advance! John

A: John, It sounds like you don't really need the full power of the LED 1000, as you mention the equivalence to two LED 500 units. That being the case, I would say that, for you, the bi-color would be the best option. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 4. Has anyone found an affordable storage/travel solution for this giant light? Soft or hard case/bag?

A: We do not have any dedicated travel bag or case for the LED2000 lights. However, we do have a couple of hard cases that will work. One is 29x18x10 and the other is 30x21x18 . Whether they are affordable or not depends on your budget. They are $364.99 and $599.00 respectively. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 5. The Pictures show this product with the barndoors, but in description or in the box section do not say anything about the barndoors being included. Are they included or need to purchase separately?

A: Unfortunately, no, the Dracast LED1000 Plus Series Daylight LED Light does not include the barndoors; they are an optional accessory. If you need the pictured barndoors, the Dracast Barndoors for LED1000, B&H # DRBD1000, may be purchased separately.

Q: 6. Does this light come with a stand?

A: No , the stand is sold separately

Q: 7. Are LED lights a good choice for accurate colors in photographing artwork for print reproduction?

A: So, the consensus seems to be Yes to the question of whether the light will work well for lighting paintings for photographic reproduction. I would concur in that opinion. // Also, if there are any other technical or product related questions, feel free to contact us directly at any time at support@dracobroadcast.com.

Q: 8. Hi. I'm trying to decide between this, the Ikan 1024, or the Aputure LS 1c. The concern I have with this design and the Ikan is how the battery is mounted to the back of the light. Has anyone had issues with the yoke or using it up high or with a c-stand?

A: The power source/battery being separate from the light fixture is nice, but the same can be accomplished with a VariZoom S7101 4-Pin XLR to D-Tap Adapter Cable (a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/379251-REG/VariZoom_S_7101_S7101_4_Pin_XLR_to.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/379251-REG/VariZoom_S_7101_S7101_4_Pin_XLR_to.html/a) although the V-mount battery placement should not bump into the yoke, but it does add weight. Not a problem for a C stand. I have even used it on a boom pole with adequate sandbag weight. The Dracast is superior to the other LED square panels (CRI, light output, build quality), but like all of these types of 1 x 1 lights you will need diffusion or your talent will see spots and you will get multiple shadows. Chimera makes a great softbox for Dracast/Flolight 1 x 1 Chimera LED Lightbank although a little pricey (a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/869328-REG/Chimera_1670_LED_Lightbank_for_Flolight.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/869328-REG/Chimera_1670_LED_Lightbank_for_Flolight.html/a) and it will reduce the light output by about half, but makes for very pleasing light. Another advantage is that Dracast includes a free $200 battery, which is well worth it and helps to cover much of the cost of the softbox. However, the best light (size, weight, output, bi-color, focus-able, CRI, remote control via Bluetooth, etc.) would be the Kinotehnik Practilite 602 Smart LED Fresnel (a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1208021-REG/kinotehnik_pract602_practilite_602_smart_led.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1208021-REG/kinotehnik_pract602_practilite_602_smart_led.html/a), which is what I would recommend and I own both lights. 4 universal speed rings allow adding softboxes, but you really wont need them in most cases with this pleasing light. They give you a lot more control where the light is going unlike the Dracast and the Fresnel lens blends two or more lights together very well. I own 2 and when I can afford it. I will buy another one. I hope this helps.

Q: 9. How many hours does it last?

A: The run time would depend on the watt/hour rating of the battery. For example, the use of the V-mount plate on the Dracast LED500 Plus Series Bi-Color LED Light along with one battery from the Dracast Dual Charger with Two 90Wh V-Mount Batteries, BH # DR90S2CK would give you a run time of roughly 3 hours at full output. https://bhpho.to/3xxGpy9

Q: 10. What is total light output equivalent to say quartz light?

A: A 500 bicolor has 250 orange and 250 blue leds. Set at 3200K only half of the leds are on, same thing at 5600k. With all 500 leds lit up you have something like 4000K. I would compare the output of this middle (brightest) setting to a 500 watt tungsten uh...sorta like a 500 open-face with a chimera, At 3200 or at 5600 somewhat less.

These are really good quality. The stands are solid and have a good range in terms of adjustable height. The light itself is really great and you have a good amount of control over the effect that you need from the light. The iPhone holder works quite well and is designed in a way that allows you to move it into several different positions and angles

I’d been wanting a ring light for a while, but hadn’t made the purchase since I own other Dracast light panels. However, I took the leap and am not disappointed by any means. It’s super bright, and being able to control the temperature is a huge plus. I’m glad it came with the stand included. No complaints.

with battery, remote, all of the accessories, you can almost do any project with it. Light weight as well. Plastic light ring but it is good for the indoor use, simple and low budget.
