Each model has a tiny hole (1/64" or smaller) precisely drilled in the front panel. The shutter is simply a small hinged metal plate that the photographer swings up and down to begin and end the exposure. The focal length is determined by the length of the camera. A: On the back end of the camera there is a rectangular piece of wood secured by 2 dowels. If one isn't using a cut film holder with the camera you simply mount the film to that rectangular piece of wood (needs to be loaded in the dark you may wish to practice using a spent sheet of film in the light first before going into the dark to load). If you are using a cut film holder or other back you just leave out the rectangular piece of wood and secure whatever film back you're using with the 2 dowels (film backs should also be loaded in the dark).
