The ED-15 4-Channel Dimmer from Eliminator Lighting is designed to control your light fixtures movement. This 15A controller features 16 automatic and sound activated built-in programs. All four channels are user assignable between Dimmer and Switch modes while there are LED indicators for each channel. Among the ED-15's features are DMX and Analog input/output connection, Slave, Auto and Audio functions, a ropelight connection and an audio sensitivity knob. Four 6A fuses are provided for overload protection.

Q: 1. How does this light compare to the Chauvet Slim Par 56?

A: Not even close. This light is at least 50% smaller and has a cheap noisy fan in it. The Chauvet is a much more dependable light and much better documented. With this one, be prepared to hunt around on the internet for instructions on how to program it, as no manual was included with either of my lights. (esp if using DMX) I ordered 2 and 1 failed within a day. At $25, it's not even worth attempting to return since it's a third party shipper. I'll put it this way, in the last year I've purchased 4 Chauvet Par 56 LED and 16 Chauvet Par 64s LEDs and only 2 of these from B&H and the one of these that works is still in my closet.

A: The manufacture does not have it rated in Lumens but in Lux and Candles. It is, 65 fc / 700 Lux at 6.56' / 2 m

A: oh it would probably work then. It works by AC power dimming so it should be fine

Q: 4. What do the sound activated programs control? If it is a light(s) then how long do they stay on?

A: Once the ED15 is set to the sound activation mode, it will chase through the built in programs as long as it hears audio.

Q: 5. Does it have a port where I can play my own music through it or is it pre loaded with it's own christmas music?

A: This is a dimmer pack, and does not have any pre-loaded music. It does have a small microphone so that it can be sound activated, and by using the dip switches you can change the pattern.

Q: 6. Can this spot be set up to track a performer automatically?

A: The light does not have a sensor that tracks movement. Most use it attach to a control board and a person on the board moves the light.

Q: 7. Does this support DMX through? I want to connect one dimmer pack to another via a second DMX cable.

A: This dimmer accepts. DMX 1 x 3-Pin XLR Male 1 x 3-Pin XLR Female
