The Mitakon Zhongyi Creator 35mm f/2 Lens is a classic wide-angle prime characterized by its bright f/2 maximum aperture, manual focus operation, and all-metal lens barrel construction. Designed for full-frame and APS-C-format Pentax K mount cameras, this lens features a seven elements in five groups construction that helps to minimize distortions and maintain sharpness throughout the aperture range. The f/2 maximum aperture also pairs with the rounded nine-blade diaphragm to produce smooth bokeh when using shallow depth of field techniques.

Prime wide-angle lens designed for use with full-frame Pentax K mount SLRs, this lens can also be used with APS-C-format DSLRs where it will provide a 52.5mm equivalent focal length.

Manual focus design is complemented by both depth of field and distance scales for utilizing pre-focus and zone focusing techniques.

Rounded nine-blade diaphragm helps to produce a smooth out-of-focus quality when working with selective focus techniques.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. On a full-fame sensor, this will be an actual 35mm focal length, correct? And on an APS-C sensor it will be more like 56mm?

A: That is correct. The lens will be 35mm on a full frame and the equivalent of 56mm on an APS-C sensor.

Q: 2. The Ef mount version, does it got OIS?

A: No this lens does not have OIS.

Q: 3. Does it come with a lens hood?

A: It does not come with a hood.

Q: 4. Does this lens have the mechanism to allow F3 film camera to recognize aperture?

A: When using the Mitakon Zhongyi Creator 35mm f/2 Preset Lens on a Nikon F3 body, the metering and the auto exposure features will work as one sets the aperture manually on the lens, and using depth of field preview. This Mitakon lens does not feature any electronic communication with the Nikon body.

Q: 5. Does the aperture adjust in full, 1/2 or 1/3 increments?

A: It has a slight click at each full stop. There is no click at 1/2 or 1/3 stops. You can adjust the Aperture between stops. But you will not know exactly what the lens is set to.

Q: 6. Can this lense go with Canon 1200D? Thanks

A: Being that this lens has an EF mount, it can work on a Canon 1200D.

Q: 7. How smooth is the focus ring?

A: The focus ring turns smoothly, without any play in the movement.

Q: 8. Does this have a focus confirmation chip built in? If so, does the 85mm have one as well?

A: Yes. It does have focus confirmation chip and whenever you half-press shutter button, red blinker will go off when focused. Regarding 85mm I can not tell you, though, since I haven't worked with that lense.

Q: 9. Does this lens integrate with the Pentax KA mount system for metering? Specifically, does it function or have the functional A on the aperture ring?

A: The Mitakon Zhongyi Creator 35mm f/2 Lens for Pentax K Mount is a fully manual lens. It does not have electronic contacts for communication with the camera and does not have an A mode built onto the aperture ring. The lens will fit the Pentax K-mount, but you will have to focus the lens manually and set the aperture using the aperture ring on the lens, not the command dial on the camera body.

Q: 10. I understand that this lens does not have electronic contacts. Does it include the mechanical means for the body to sense the aperture that has been set on the lens? I'm a beginner and still lean on aperture priority on my Pentax MV and ZX-M.

A: This is a fully manual lens that offers no electronic communication between the lens and the camera. You will need to set the aperture from the lens.

Cheap Price, good quality, sharp picture, heavy.

This lens is: Heavy. Has a pretty long focus throw. Wiggles a little more than I'd like at the mount when focusing.

However, it is EXCELLENT, and I love it.

INCREDIBLY sharp. Great rendering. All photos from me are SOOC Fine JPG from a Z7ii in Monochrome mode scaled to 1200px on the long edge. Punch-ins are 100% crops at 1200x800.
