light yet sturdy. confident in it at lower levels. fully extended, especially outdoors, i have an assistant hold it since legs don't create a wide enough base but it's to be expected from a small stand. 5

This is probably the most solid sub $100 light stand I've owned/used. This is basically a light weight cstand. 5

Very sturdy kit stand. Very little flex in the top riser and the legs are rigid. Far better than the flimsy avenger a625b or the Arri AS-1 kit stands. The arri stands have plastic collars and smaller diameter tubes. The Kupo is heavier at 5.5 pounds, but you would have to look at Avenger A0025B for similar build quality. 5

It has the same weight capacity and footprint as my c-stands. Pretty sturdy, and it might be a nice compromise from a c-stand when traveling. The closest comparable stand that I can think of is the Matthews medium duty light stand, but this one has square tube legs and a leveling leg which I like much more. This is the first Kupo product that Ive purchased. It seems very durable, and I have a feeling its going to be around for a very long time. 5

I picked out this light stand for the height, sturdiness, and the leveling leg. It is well made and appears very sturdy. I tried out the leveling leg on some stairs and that worked well. It is a little heavier than some similar light stands, that comes from using all metal components. I think it will hold up better over time. This stand is a good value. 5

This is my third Kupo stand and probably my favorite. My other two are their 12.5' Universal stands. Those are great but a bit big and bulky. A pair of them would work perfect with a crossbar for backdrop or for permanent studio stands. This baby kit stand is far more portable and with the adjustable third leg can be used on uneven terrain. It's perfect for a 36+ soft box or large beauty dish and 9.5' is plenty tall for most applications. They are extremely well built. 5

I was looking for a durable yet portable light stand to support a 26" octagon soft box for in-studio and onsite applications that was more stable than my current stands. After browsing all the options, I finally called and spoke with a lighting professional at B&H on a Sunday afternoon for some suggestions. He was extremely helpful in guiding me through the search criteria on the left-hand column of the product listing and arriving at three options. I wasn't even familiar with the Kupo brand, but the specs fit my needs to a tee, including the folded size of under 35" to fit in my padded Manfrotto bag. The lighting specialist assured me it was of professional quality and I ordered the unit online shortly after we spoke. It arrived today and I am totally impressed with the solid build, stability and performance of this unit! Yes, I may still use sand bags for exterior shoots on windy days, but man, is thing built!
