Incorporating three 2/3" Full-HD Exmor CMOS sensors (1920 x 1080), this camcorder achieves high resolution, high sensitivity (F12 at 60 Hz / F13 at 50 Hz), low noise (62 dB), and a wide dynamic range to give more freedom of expression for creative shooting.

The PXW-X400 Camcorder offers a wide array of recording formats for a variety of applications including ENG, EFP, and studio use. Developed on MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression, the XAVC codec provides support for the Full HD format of XAVC long 4:2:2 1080p50 and 1080p59.94 formats.

To support effective wireless news production workflows, the PXW-X400 Camcorder incorporates a built-in wireless capability. It also provides an 'ONLINE' button, located on the inside panel, which lets you instantly switch on functions like Network Client Mode, Auto Proxy Upload, and Live Streaming.

This Ethernet connector provides robust and fast connection to the network and can be utilized for file transfer, live streaming, and camera control from a web browser

An NFC function supports easy connection for launching the CBM (Content Browser Mobile) application on a smartphone or tablet. This means you can skip cumbersome setup procedures.

This camcorder minimizes your physical stress even during the longest shooting operations because the camcorder's center of gravity has been moved to the back of the body to achieve optimized weight balance and stable image shooting.

Dual 3G-SDI output enables simultaneous output of up to two 1080p50/59.94 signals. Multi-purpose audio input accepts both analog audio signals and AES/EBU digital audio signals. SDI input for pool-feed operation, so you can input and record 1.5GB HD/SD-SDI distributed signals from another camera. Each connector is located separately and, so there's no need for you to switch between input and output.

This camcorder achieves power consumption as low as 22W in normal recording mode. This enables continuous recording operation for approximately 240 minutes with Sony's BP-GL95A (sold separately) standard-type battery.

Equipped with two types of connectors for a viewfinder interface, the PXW-X400 Camcorder supports a variety of Sony's viewfinders, including the Full HD OLED HDVF-EL30 and HDVF-EL20, as well as the QHD LCD CBK-VF02. The HDVF-EL30 has a 960 x 540 resolution sub-LCD panel.

The PXW-X400 Camcorder is equipped with a dedicated ONLINE button on the inside panel. This delivers simple one-touch operation of ON/OFF switching for three network connection functions.

CBM application software controls the camcorder remotely and is available on both Android and iOS.

You can connect Sony's PWS-100RX1 Network RX Station (sold separately) to send proxy clips or live streaming with Sony's QoS technology. The PXW-X400 Camcorder can also be controlled remotely by the RX station.

Clip files recorded on the camcorder can be transmitted via a network automatically when the recording is finished. XAVC 4:2:0 Long GOP clips are supported.

This camcorder can transfer MPEG2-TS (UDP/RTP) to a third-party decoder

The ONLINE button indicates the status (Disabled, Ready, Enabled) in three ways (off, orange, blue).

Sony's unique QoS (Quality of Service) technology minimizes risk of image quality degradation, image freeze, or audio disruption, and helps maintain video and audio integrity during communications. The PWS-100RX1 Network RX Station comes with Sony-original algorithms that automatically adjust bandwidths and buffer sizes to match the characteristics of wireless communications.

The Sony QoS Technology improves the clarity that's possible on a single 3G/4G/LTE cellular channel or your own wireless LAN network, or limited communication band of Ethernet. You get better pictures, even given the limitations of real-world networks. The endpoint of Sony's QoS streaming is the versatile PWS-100RX1 Receiver Station.

For maximum flexibility, Sony's XDCAM wireless solutions also support conventional MPEG-TS streaming, so that you can stream to a wide range of receivers, including compatible third-party receivers and decoders. Sony wireless solutions will stream over a wireless LAN network or over a 3G/4G/LTE cellular network, with the appropriate carrier dongle and service. You can also enjoy wired streaming over Ethernet, using the embedded RJ45 connector, via a router/hub.

During field shooting news or other time-sensitive content, you can transfer files wirelessly so there's no need to wait for the delivery of physical media. The receiving server gets a bit-for-bit clone of the original camera file, with all the original audio, video, and metadata.

The PXW-X400 Camcorder offers a simultaneous recording capability for peace-of-mind productions. Simultaneous recording is available on both SxS cards as a backup measure. This is within the same codec and with the same operating point in the recording formats such as XAVC-Intra, XAVC-Long, MPEG HD422, or MPEG HD (420). You can also achieve simultaneous recording with a proxy file in all combinations with the above formats using SD cards.

On activation, the built-in GPS receiver module records GPS data in an MXF file and a proxy file, and automatically imposes it on the live streaming signal. It is also useful for tracking shooting locations in post-production and when station-based staffs need to map a crew's location with the PWS-100RX1 Receiver for streaming.

The CA-FB70 Optical Fiber Camera Adapter or the CA-TX70 Digital Triax Camera Adapter (both sold separately) can be attached to the PXW-X400 Camcorder for live camera operation. The CA-FB70 Adapter enables the camcorder to transmit signals via an optical fiber cable up to 820' between the CA-FB70 and HXCU-FB70 Optical Fiber Camera Control Unit (CCU) with power and signal transmission. The CA-TX70 Adapter transmits signals via Triax cable up to 1968' between the CA-TX70 and HXCU-TX70 Digital Triax Camera Control Unit.

The PXW-X400 Camcorder is equipped with an RGB color LCD display on the inside panel. In addition to thumbnail and menu displays, you can see and monitor video reproduction in QHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution.

Newly developed ALAC (Automatic Lens Aberration Compensation) feature decreases specific patterns of chromatic aberration caused by the lens. The camcorder supports user gamma and Focus Assist function for easier focusing on the viewfinder and provides a graphic bar indicator, while the viewfinder can indicate Waveform, Vector Scope, or Histogram. The Digital Extender function enables images to be digitally expanded two to four times in size without any loss of F-drop image sensitivity.

Q: 10. Am trying to choose between the 35mm and the 24 mm for my bmpcc 4k. I have no experience with videography. I need 3 meike lens for music video filming and am gambling between 16mm, 35mm, and 50mm. I have seen that the 12mm and 25mm have more reviews. what 3 lens combinations would you suggest i buy? Thank you

A: A good standard 3 lens setup, for a micro-four thirds sized sensor camera (such as the Blackmagic pocket 4K), in the choices of Meike lenses, would be the 12mm (wide), a 25mm (normal), and 50mm (telephoto). https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1502600-REG/meike_mk12t2_2m4_3_12mm_t2_2_manual_focus.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1451856-REG/meike_mk25f2_2m4_3_t2_2_25mm_manual_focus_cinema.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1539466-REG/meike_mk50mmt2_2m4_3_50mm_t2_2_manual_focus.html

This lens performs brilliantly for the price! Works well for low-light photography. I'm very happy with the image quality even with the aperture wide open. Both attached images were shot with Nikon Z6 ii at f/1.4, ISO 800. The farther away was 1/160s and the close-up 1/50s.

This lens (the L-mount version) seems plenty sharp at F8, although it slightly softens at the left and right edges. I saw no evidence of decentering during a couple weeks of almost daily use. Also I saw little or no evidence of chromatic aberration at F8. It's a little bit glowy at F1.4 but this goes away by F2.8.
My TTArtisan 50mm F1.4 L-mount Lens is well built and fits tightly on my Sigma fp L but not super-tight (tighter than my Sigma lens but not so tight that I'm worried about it).
Front lens cover is machined aluminum and quite nice but easily lost, so I put it back in the box (a very nice box!) for safekeeping. According to the box, the lens weighs 436 grams (almost a pound).
It is about 54mm in diameter (2 1/8) and about 68mm long (2.7) when mounted on the camera. Aperture ring has click-stops (yay!). The aperture ring and focus ring operate smoothly and are well damped, although the focus ring seems to have a slightly tighter spot midway (not much tighter though, and I did not notice it for several days). The lens does not move around in the helicoid, indicating that the focus helicoid is well-made and close-tolerance.
I'm using a 49mm pinch-type front cap (Sigma LCF-49 III). My Sensei Pro LHM-49 threaded metal lens hood ($8.29 and 3/4 deep) does not cause vignetting and it takes a 58mm front cap so I can leave it on the lens.
I am also using a 49mm Hoya EVO clear protector filter ($42) on the front of this lens at all times. It's worth spending money on a high quality protector, so that the image quality potential of the lens is not compromised.
Bottom line is that this lens delivers great images with plenty of sharpness for an amazingly low price.

Used on the Leica SL2-S. Let's get the bad stuff out of the way. There is coma in certain situation. It is on the heavier side. The good: gorgeous, sharp images with a magical look, no vignetting I could see even at 1.4 on the L-Mount version and the build quality and interface are great. As I've seen in other reviews, this would be more a 4.5 stars but for $220 it's almost criminal.

Sensacional

Incredibley smooth bokeh! Without a doubt the best at this price. Very sharp, too, capable of outresolving the A7RIV when stepped down.

Far better than the Sony 50mm F/1.8. Optically I'd compare this to my Sony ZA 55mm F/1.8! Equally sharp, and even better aberration handling compared to the ZA 55mm.

The bokeh from this lens is what's truely special. The optical design seems to be based on the classic Sonnar layout, but with a few extra elements to remove abberations. The end result is you get bokeh that's far better than any vintage SLR lens, completely blowing away every 50mm on any SLR and even DSLR, even Sigma's own Art series. This is possible due to the shorter flange distance on mirrorless cameras, allowing the sonnar design to fit without extending into the mirror box!

This is truly a special lens, and the only comparable lens are the GM and ZA Sony lens. Nothing else comes close.

Awesome lens to have with an entre cinema camera! I would say it worth the price but is too cheap for its quality! Keep in mind that because of the MFT mount, the angle of view is narrower than normal 50 mm, so if you're looking for something similar as a full frame 50, maybe go with the 35mm. Either way it's and excellent lens!

For some years now I've been shooting with Rokinon glass and enjoying my lenses greatly. However, these lenses have been a little difficult to use on my JDI gimbal and with my edelkrone head-1 & follow focus. Without elaborating the details it occurred to me a smaller lighter set of lenses would be easier to work with. I found the Meike primes with the MFT mount. These have proved to be a great answer! They are decidedly smaller, lighter and in my opinion, sharper. The issues with the follow focus before are gone. They balance much easier on my gimbal, especially when swapping. They show little breathing when compared to my Rokinon glass. I have no idea how they would compare to the Zeiss compact primes, except to say they are about 1/10th the price of the Zeiss.

I have all the Meike cine lenses and use them on my S35 cameras as well as my MFT cameras. Love the build and the focus throw.

I bought this to use on a Leica SL and was immediately impressed by its optical performance. The focusing ring and aperture ring are both smooth as silk, with just the right amount of resistance. For the price the lens is a screaming bargain. Waiting for them to make a 35mm version in the L mount. I'll get that too.
