Q: 2. is there a difference between Orca Or-28 and orca Or-280?

A: There is a difference between the Orca OR-280, which has a larger internal size and is optimized for the Sound Devices MixPre 10, and the OR-28, which is smaller, and designed for the Zoom F8, Tascam DR-70, and other portable recorders of that size range.

Q: 3. Will this work with TASCAM DR-680MK II?

A: The recorder will be slightly taller than the internal height of the bag, but should work with the Orca.

Q: 4. Are the internal dividers movable, and how tall are the interior sections from their bottoms to where the bottom of fold-down divider? (How long can lenses which are stood on their ends be, including their caps?)

A: Yes. dividers are removable Interior Dimensions (L x W x H) 15.00 x 10.6 x 10.6" / 38.00 x 27.00 x 27.00 cm

Q: 5. what orca 280 can for mixpre 10 ii ?

A: The ORCA OR-280 Audio Bag for MixPre-10 Mixer is compatible with the MixPre-10 ii.

Q: 6. The official Orca website says this bag is compatible with the Mix-Pre 10 along with the MX-L battery mount. Does this mean it will fit two NP-F970 type batteries mounted at once?

A: thank you for your question. this bag will indeed fit the Mix-Pre 10 with 2 NP style batteries attached with the MX-L mount option.

Q: 7. Will the OR-280 work with the TASCAM DR-680MK II?

Q: 8. will this fit with sound devices 888 and sl2?

A: it depends on SL2- is that a Leica camera? if so, yes it will 'fit"in the Orca bag, it depends on how important a snug fit is to you. Bag interior dimensions: 13 x 7.5 x 9 SD 888 is: 9.6 x 2 x 7.3" / 24.5 x 5.1 x 18.5 cm Is SL2 a Leica camera? SL2 is: 5.75 x 4.21 x 1.65" / 146 x 107 x 42 mm While bag info states its: For Sound Devices 664, 688, 702 & 788 Bag will hold a 888 easily, it depends on SL 2

Q: 9. Will this work with an f8

A: Dimensions of the Zoom F8 are 7 x 5.5 x 2.1" and the interior of the ORCA OR-280 is 9.4 x 7.9 x 4.5" so the F8 will fit inside, but the bag is larger than needed. As a better option for a similar bag that is sized for the F8, you may like the ORCA OR-28 Mini Audio Bag for ZOOM F8, Zaxcom Max, Tascam DR70 & Other Recorders (B&H # OROR28), or the ORCA OR-27 Small Sound Bag (B&H # OR27), or the ORCA OR-272 Sound Bag for Zoom F4 and F8N (B&H # OR272), or the ORCA OR-30 Audio Mixer Bag (B&H # OROR30).

Q: 10. Can it be strapped to other audio bags? (not orca)

A: Yes, I use it with numerous petrol bags.

It feels both hyperbolic and somewhat ironic to say this, but I believe the OR-48 (Orcart) is one of the best production sound equipment purchases I've ever made. While was painful to spend so much on what is superficially just another bag, once I got it setup I immediately realized I had made the right choice. The OR-48 is essentially a semi-soft bag with a rigid frame that transforms, in a rather ingenious way, into a small cart, providing a shelf on which to place the sound bag. This is a fantastic solution for mixers like myself who work primarily in interviews and commercials, where bringing a traditional cart is both impractical and unnecessary. Even on days when I'm running sound solo, it's very useful to have this workstation off to the side somewhere, rather than having a small army of pelican cases scattered about. The build materials here are top-notch, and an incredible attention to detail has clearly gone into its' construction. A couple of things potential buyers should keep in mind: - Fully loaded, it can be quite heavy (I weighed mine at a little under 70lbs) - however, that's more a function of the fact that you actually can fit a very full production sound kit into this bag. The bag alone weighs about 20lbs, which is reasonable considering the frame and built-in trolly. - There are very convenient boom pole holders on the back of the bag, but you can't really transport poles inside the OR-48, so expect to have to bring something like a K-Tek boom pole case for that purpose. - While the build quality is top-notch, this is not a Pelican case, and I personally would be very hesitant to fly with it, if only because the exterior could get damaged or scuffed. There's simply nothing else on the market like this right now, and I strongly encourage anyone considering this bag to pull the trigger.

I wasted my time with other bags. I should have gotten the Orca first. So strong and sturdy with loads of access panels. I use it with my MixPre 10ii and it holds it like a boss. Buy Orca, and skip the other brands. Orca clearly knows how to make an audio bag!

My audio production is moving up into the pro area with the purchase of the ORCA OR _280 to hold my new
Sound Devices MixPre-6 II 6-Channel / 8-Track Multitrack 32-Bit Field Recorder and sennheiser mkh-416 shoot gun micro phone. The bag is great!!

Love this bag... it holds everything you could ever want on any shoot, live or taped. Only down side is it’s so big that it weighs 82 lbs loaded, with extra cables, batteries, and connectors. The wheels seem strong enough to handle it though. Would highly recommend this!!!

It took several months to restock after my order was placed, and the shipping appeared to have been a tad rough as part of the bag was poking out of the box and the cardboard near fully deteriorated in the 30ft of hauling it inside from the porch, but surprisingly no dents or damage was done to the product itself.
Shipping issues aside, this perfectly fits my entire kit with room to spare! Plus doubling as a table on set, I can finally stop asking other crew members if I can borrow a stool haha

There isn't really anything like the ORCart for traveling and mixing. I usually travel with my mixer/recorder in my carry-on, but I went for it and over several flights everything inside the cart was safe and secure. On set it was awesome to have everything I needed right there and the interior lights make things so easy on night shoots, a great detail. If only the wheels could be bigger like my eurocart to get over rough terrain, but really this is a well designed cart.

I have barely used this bag so my review is based on first impressions. I have a couple camera bags for gear, but this bag is a step above in terms of quality. I feel like I could drop this bag without worry about the contents being damaged. It is rugged and I suspect it is on par with their other bags for audio recorder use. This is my first Orca but I am blown away.
As for the fit of the MixPre 10t, it fits, but I am new to this sort of setup, with only a MixPre 10t to my name, no lav mics, battery packs, etc at this point. There seems to be good room in the bag for extras no doubt.
The one gripe I read about all other bags and the reason this big is made for MixPre 10t is the DC input plug on the bottom. This bag has a holder on one side that lifts the recorder up a bit so that there is room for the DC input plug without it being bent/broken off. I havent tried it out yet, but it looks like enough room for a straight on DC connection. I bought the DTAP to DC plug, and it fits fine in the bag, no bend/snag to it.
There is enough room on both sides to access all the ports. I can even get to the dial, as small as it is, and I have big hands.

All in all, I think there is no better bag for the MixPre 10 at this point. This is the bag to get if you own that recorder.
