The 22" Beauty Reflector from Angler gets its name from the popularity of this light shaper with fashion and portrait photographers.

Recommended for strobes, the light source is bounced off of a centrally positioned deflector and directed to fill the neutral white reflector interior. The result is a signature soft dispersed look, but with crispness, ideal for hair and makeup, that you can't get from umbrellas and softboxes. An added feature is the natural-looking catchlights that appear in the subject's eyes. Optional accessories include a honeycomb grid to tunnel and direct the light output and a diffusion sock to soften it.

Q: 4. Mola demi How much weight?

A: Hi,its about 3.5lbs in weight with a bowens adaptor ... so I'd say 2.5lbs plus packaging. Its more about the size of box rather than the weight. Its too big to carry as hand luggage on a plane...as i found out!

A: Unfortunately, the beauty dish is not compatible with Photogenic monolights.

A: Yes it will work with Alien Bees, just have to buy the Kacey AB/WL Mount Adapter ($21). I have this beauty dish and I use it with my Einstein.

A: NO. This is a beauty dish that attaches to a standalone monolight which is entirely different than Canon Speedlight. If you wanted to attach a Speedlight, which is a small handheld portable flash that can be mounted on a camera or a special hotshoe you would need an adapter that accommodates your speeligt and has a special ring onto which the beauty dish will mount. What is and not included should be on the listing.

Q: 10. What is the diffusion material in the center? (need to replace on a beauty dish I already have)

A: The diffusion material would be most similar to the Rosco Roscolux #111 Filter - Tough Rolux - 20x24 Sheet B&H # RO111S.

I constantly talk about loving and using grids. With a beauty dish, I can't even imagine using one without a grid. That's just me, but controlling spread and coverage in beauty and glamour is what it's all about when it comes to sculpting the cheek bones and having just the right contrast and wrap on the face. I also like the method used for attaching the grid tot he beauty dish. It's solid and secure. 5

The beauty dish has a great quality and characteristic on its own, but when you add the honeycomb grid and control spill, it's fantastic. You can even use a diffusion sock over the grid and get a great balance of crisp, contrasty light and soft, diffused light. I can't imagine doing beauty work without this grid. 5

I had purchased a beauty dish elsewhere that was supposed to come with a grid but didn't. When I contacted the company they informed me that they couldn't replace the missing piece and offered me a pittance of a return. I turned to B&H and bought the grid here. It arrived on time in sturdy packaging and when I snapped it into place on my beauty dish it actually adjusted a few imperfections that the dish had that I didn't notice when I bought it!! I should have gone to B&H from the get-go. Fantastic product and service! 5
