A: The A and J were representative of two lines of inks that Canon was planning to offer, however, this plan was discontinued, and now the A and J do not distinguish any particular difference. As long as their printer model is listed as compatible with this ink tank, then they are compatible.

Q: 2. What is the drying time for these inks?

A: It all depends on what you are printing and how much is put on the page. We used 3 minutes for the dry time on our machine so the rollers would not smug the ink after the cut. Photo paper takes about 5 minutes to dry because the ink sets on the page and does not soak into it.

A: Canon does not publish page yield on this cartridge. The reasons are cartridge yields vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, type of paper, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink color. A variable amount of ink remains in the cartridge after the replace cartridge signal. Part of the ink from the first cartridges is used for priming the printer. Ink is used for both printing and print head maintenance. All inks are used for both black and color printing.
