This is a very solid heavy duty swivel mount. I'm not afraid of using it for my nice microphones. 5

This is great when needing to place the mic at different angles where the standard mic mount only allows up and down tilt. Especially useful when I’m at a wedding reception that has a live band and I need to squeeze the mic through difficult spaces to reach the drummer’s snare, high hat or Toms, also useful when miking a violinist during a wedding ceremony, just with the right angle to get the best mic placement. Lastly, also very useful at my recording studio. This piece can hold a load of 6lbs, more than enough for what I could possibly need. When tightening the locking knob in place, just a little tightening is enough to lock my mic in place. It’s all made of metal, no plastic. The Auray AD-5858-SW 5/8-27 Female to 5/8-27 Male Mic-Stand Swivel Mount is great for when you need some versatility with mic positioning. I have a standing desk and being able to adjust the mic when I move the desk (not mounted to a standing desk) is a great feature to have available. It's all metal and durable.
